Was asked for some pics of the 4 link set up I am using on the crew cab project. These pics were from about 3 years ago. On the rear I have fully removed the leaf springs, front I have just removed 3 leafs for smoother ride, but further supported by way of the helper bag.

Very nice, thanks for the pics. I'm curious why you ran the bottom four link so far foward on the frame? Obviously the tops were a no brainer, as I see you put them into the spring perches. How's the ride? Is it too choppy without any weight? I'd imagine the front is fine, but the rear is what I'd be concerned with? And how did you manage bag pressure? Did you use a ride leveler like on a big truck? Or do you just regulate them with the standard air bag in cab control or air up individually?

What are the links made of, they look threaded like a tierod end, but obviously are a bushing setup. Looks very clean and nice, if I ever get around to the suspension on mine, those look like good options for links.

Firestones. Model numbers I do not remember what I ended up with as that was 4 years ago. :( I do remember the rear was a big bigger.

Due to the length of the frame, the further forward the better. With the length of the bar, plus the amount of torque the twins will make, it is safer this way.

Dont know yet! Truck is not finished! :-laf



Either way, it will not be too bad. As I am 100% air ride, I can run anywhere from just enough PSI to hold up the back to 140 lbs. I think the front will be the rougher end of things!

Two ways. I can manually adjust in the cab, and I also have a big rig auto leveler on there. If I disconnect the auto level, I am 100% controlled by the cab. Regardless of what style I am using, I do have a manual dump so I can slide under a 5er with out getting out of the truck. :D

Ditto! :) As for tires and rims, they will be 19. 5 Alcoas.

Correct and correct. The rod is a steel tube that is threaded reversed on each end. Tighten it and both ends thread together. Turn it the other way... .



There is also a bushinged end that has the female threads to accept the rod.















And in the event anyone wants more info on this type of setup, much of this was done by Kelderman air ride. The owner has a 1st gen and he did a similar setup. This would be the second 1st gen 4 link he has done. Between what Kelderman did, and what I fabbed up myself, this is the result.

That I cannot answer you as that was a Kelderman part. If my memory serves though, they again were steel tubing. One was threaded and butted onto the second piece (the one with the bushing) and then welded.



Thanks on the frame. Sandblasted it in the driveway at -18 F. Mask kept freezing over from my breath! LOL Come spring there were white sand beaches in my driveway! :D After the sand blasting I had it powder coated.
