2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Routing of front axle vent hose

I have been doing some searches here to see how the front axle vent hose is routed. After getting my truck back together after some other repairs, a guy at work pointed out I had something dangling under the front end. It was the front axle vent hose.

A search I did here mentioned something about the airbox. I am going to go back outside and see what I can find, but... . does anyone here know how it should be routed? I have stretched it around to see what seems logical, but I am not finding it.

It has a steel clip on it of the sort that would slide on the edge of sheet stock, and would need to be routed to allow for axle motion.

I just went out and looked at my 99. It is attached just below the rear corner of the air-box on the inner fender. Randy

just put the vent cap on it, and route it anyway that allows for axle movement and where it does not get hot. if you want to lengthen it, just get the proper diameter and hook it up.

There is a nylon colored plastic piece in the end of the hose that presents a small orifice; a vent bleed.

that is the cap i was referring to. it does not matter where you route it as long as it does not melt or can belch onto hot parts as on occasion air can get trapped under fluid in the tube and the fluid can be purged out the vent and you don't want it falling on a exhaust or turbo if you can help it.
