Anybody ever hear about a blinker recall for a 2006? I just texted the previous owner about some electrical issues I am having and he says the blinker thing is a recall and to take it to the dealer. Fact or ?

It's not a recall. I think what they do is extend the warranty to cover the broken switch. Mine is doing the left-left-left-right-left-right-etc thing. More annoying than anything. I just have to make the time to get it in.

Its all working now. Loose connection at the pwr pedals, I think it completed the circuit personally... dealer wanted to sell me a all new TIPM and then some... ... yeah don't think so.

Did you just have to disconnect the power pedals at the switch then reconnect? That sure beats the heck out of letting the dealer in my truck.

Is the fluid low? Maybe a full synthetic blinker fluid would fix that?

My 06 2500 does the same thing ,i has happened will pulling an trailer and without. The dealer could not duplicate the problem,Olathe Dodge service said to fix the switch just move it back and forth several times when this happens to make it contact better. That will be real great when i have an accident.

It needs to be replaced before someone gets hurt!!!
I would think Dodge would want to repair this problem before the get a bigger problem.

Got faxed the actual recall for the turn signal issue. (multifunction switch) It says on there that if you have already fixed the switch yourself you can go to the dealer with the reciept of repairs and get rembursed your moolah. Or take it to the dealer and they will fix it for you. Just a Fyi.

As previously stated it only applies to 3500 not 2500 trucks. Been through this already and now on my third switch. I don't know how Chrysler got away with it since both trucks use the same part. It can be very dangerous when your signal malfunctions indicating a right turn when you intend to turn left. I always look which arrow lights up on the dash before I commit to the turn.

So after reading this thread, I believe I may have a similar issue. My driver side blinker isn't working and acting like the bulb is out. Never had any issues before, blinkers seem to function just fine. Should I replace the bulb or have the dealer look at my multifunction switch? If I need to replace the bulb, just how do you do that? I looked behind the headlamp, under the hood and it looks like you have to remove a load of things just to replace the bulb. Do you remove the inner fenderwell to access the blinker bulb? Any help is appreciated!

Thanks! Joe

There are several threads on this if you want to dig up more info. The symptoms are erratic and intermittent flashing of the turn signal or the signal flashing the opposite of the commanded direction... your problem does not sound like it fits the symptoms.

If it acts like a burned out bulb, well, start by checking the bulb. You may need to pop the headlight assembly out to access it. If I remember right it's secured with one or two bolts, then give it a good yank and it'll pop free.

Cool, thanks, that was pretty much what I was wondering, didn't think that bulb came out without taking the headlight out.....
