This depends on what you are looking for. Are you looking for just moderate power gains or massive power gains? Smarty offers two different programmers one is the JR, this only goes to +100 HP and the SR will go to 170HP.

They are both code free and will work with either the emission equipment or removed. You will need to update the Smarty to either the ME version or the US emission version, you choice. Smarty is constantly updating the software and is free to download from their site.

I am running the SR with 5"TBE and ERG blocker plates. I have been code free for 10K.

mostly looking for moderate power gains and better fuel milage, I have the 6 speed auto transmission and not to sure how well it could hold up to massive power gains? I haven't heard to much on how well the 6 speed auto is holding up to extra torque.

how do you like it dpf free?. . what mileage gain are you getting?. . will either work on the 2010's yet. . ?or the 2011 5500 chassis cabs with the urea / bluetec???. . argh... it would be nice to get rid of the urea, dpf, & egr. . any word or ideas?

Thanks,

Deo

I would recommend the Smarty JR for you. This is less expensive and provides for moderate power gains along with a fuel mileage increase. Everyone's mileage is different depending on your driving styles and the location you drive in. I have picked up 3+ MPG overall.

Now if you have a truck built after March 09, then you will need the Smarty SR. Since Mads Electronics does not offer the Smarty JR for these trucks yet.

I would check out their web site for more information. Mads Electronics - Smarty - CaTCHER - Dodge Tuning - Home

Good Luck

I can not answer some of these questions, I think you would need to contact this web site for most of your answer. Mads Electronics - Smarty - CaTCHER - Dodge Tuning - Home

See my post above for fuel mileage increases on my 08 truck. Yes I like the truck DPF free been this way for 10 K mileage.

I have been running the Smarty for about a year. And now with the "ME" software . No codes other than the helpful hint to remind you of dealer service. The only problem that I have had with Smarty on the "ME" is that when set to stock the dash warning lights indicate a problem under the hood .

To solve this I run the 30HP plus timing . This setting seems to give the best mileage . My EGT are lower , coolant a little warmer under load, able to idle down below 300 degrees before turning off the truck and increased booost. With the DPF delete and the kit for EGR delete, the engine oil is staying cleaner longer . This may also be due to the Dual remote Amsoil filter set up .

I have a 09, is there a way to do a DPF Delete without the EGR Delete. ?. All I'm looking for is if the back pressure is better, would that make better mileage?? Do you have to do both or not? I wont do this til it is out of warranty. . Wont be adding any power to save the EGR from sooting up too much. . What would I need to do at that time? Smarty and what else?
