I have complained about this since 07 when my truck was still under warranty and have had it in 3 times since with nothing found by the dealer,( Olathe Dodge service had a great reply, just flip the turn signal back and forth a couple times and it will stop)It does it more when it is wet outside and does not matter if i am pulling a trailer or not. Dash lights will flash but maybe not the right direction and maybe or maybe not any tail lights flashing. This is the last straw as i need to find a dealer to repair this under warranty before someone gets hurt.

Today it was dry and i was reminded today by Kansas Highway Patrol that my signal was not working properly and luckily only rec a warning ticket.

Does it need a multifunction switch like the recall on the 3500 models do or what does it need.

I pull a 27' fifth wheel doubled up with a small boat 64'10" OA and do not need any problems with bad turn signals.

Any good dealer suggestions in KC Metro that would help out.

It's the multifunction switch. Same problem the 3500's have the recall for, apparently not enough 2500 owners complained to the NHTSB for them to investigate the 2500 models. I agree it is a huge safety concern, I'm on my 3rd switch. It frustrates me and it's total BS.

Definitelt the multi-fuction switch. It should be covered by the extended warranty, at least on the 3500's. Some people have had luck opening it up and cleaning it and putting back together. It can be removed without puliing the steering wheel. This thread tells how in POST #7. The rest of the thread regards modding the switch to keep the high beams and fogs on, so you can ignore it. BUT Post #7 tells how to easily remove the switch without pulling the airbags, etc.

How can I find out about this recall? The only recall I have gotten was for the steering component thing.

Thanks

IIRC it was not a recall, but simply an extension of the warranty of the multifunction switch on the 06 and up 3500 trucks. A local dealer should be able to run your vin and tell you if the warrnty applies to your truck or not. Of course, you have to trust your local dealer... ;)

*** look close**** mine did the same however it was the wire harness leading to the multifunction switch had melted from the blower motor relay being removed in our years 03/04 my signals, wipers, blower motor would all act up and do weird stuff ** just a fyi *** make sure you look at that harness;) too... .

Been there..... '05 3500 was getting BAD, service writer at dealership even SAW IT FLASHING the WRONG WAY and they still gave it back as "functioning as designed". I got ****** off one day and decided to BREAK the LEVER off, thus forcing a warranty replacement----pulled/pushed that sucker full travel hard bunch of times before I quit. It hasn't messed up since (7-8months?). I guess I forced the grease out of contacts or something like that which was messing up the voltage. Yeah, they've engineered these things to only need a couple of wires, but now there's a BUNCH more ways for stuff to malfunction. Anywho..... Get violent on it--worked for me!!!:D
