My wire harness melted going to the multifunction switch again I located a harness out of state for a 03 ram mines a 04 all i need is the pin out plug endthat hooks to the multifunction switch any know if they are comparable? so I can get it from this guy instead of paying 345. 00 for a complete new harness

In looking at the connector pin-out diagrams in both 2003 and 2004 factory service manuals, the plugs appear identical. The only difference I can see is that the wiring colors used between the two years are different... but that shouldn't matter if all you're doing is cutting off the old plug and soldering on a replacement.

Good luck,

John L.

So I am just curious what load or short melted the connector

... or are they just that cheaply made... ?? :-laf
well when it first melted I thought is was from the harness being too short when I tilted the wheel it would pull and eventually pull the plug away from the multifunction switch in turn creating an arc when operating the blower motor and it got hot and melted the wires well I rigged it to get me buy cause I cant afford a new harness, plus 2 different dealers said you cant buy just the plug and terminals... I begone reading the net and a majority of people with the same problem determined it was because Dodge took out a relay for the blower moper and the draw heats up that point in the harness there's no recall, tsb's that I can find so far ****BTW: Thank You John****

Thank You John****
You're welcome.

From your comments about blower motors, I think you must actually be referring to the A/C Heater Control Switch... right? But no matter, the same info applies as stated before... 2003 and 2004 appear to use the same connectors.

FYI...

What Dodge calls the "Multi-Function Switch" is the switch on the steering column for the wipers and turn signals.

The A/C Heater Control Switch has two connectors... a 16 pin and a 10 pin. The 16 pin connector is not available separately, but the 10 pin connector is. The 10 pin connector kit is Dodge part number 5183476AA and is currently listed on Mopar Parts America for $29. 53.
