Well I went and did it, I bought a 2010 white Laramie 3500 4X4, Looooaded. I couldn’t pass up the deal, I got it at Warrenton VA (SAFFORD CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE OF WARRENTON) for $50,995, their MSRP was $56,559, I saw the same truck no lower than $55,000 and as high as $61,000 at other dealers. I took the time to check every dealer in the nation, as I was willing to go where the deal was and “no one could beat their price. ” I am crazy about the truck; no kidding this is my “Dream Truck. ” Dodge did a wonderful job with the fit and finish and the plant in Mexico did a magnificent job with the assembly. I spent an entire day going through the truck, top to bottom, front to back. It is still a CTD but the reality is that it is a completely different rig. Someone at Dodge must be reading TDR and listened to what we have been asking for and they built it. My 2006 was a good truck and gave me zero problems but it doesn’t hold a candle to this 2010.

Congrads to you. It sounds great!!! Many happy and safe miles.

For me, the costs have gotten out of reach, and now I buy used. I do miss the whole new truck feeling. I don't miss the payments. (maybe you paid cash, but i wouldn't be able to at 50k)

YUP - prices now regarded as "Bargains", would kill me today - I paid $18K out the door for my old '91:

After 120K miles, and retirement, decided to go with the '02 in order to avoid the increasing electronics and related add-ons the newer stuff was getting - figured that the '02 would be my "last truck" - the one I'd be buried in, and still feel that way - BUT, the price tag for the '02 was nearly DOUBLE the '91, at $32K out the door:

And now, the new stuff is *3 TIMES* the cost of the '91?

AH well, it's only money - and we only live once - enjoy that new ride - it'll probably look as cheap in price in a few years in comparison to what they then sell for, as the difference between MY '91 and '02~

Congratulations! :D

I totally agree. I loved my trouble free 2006, but it just doesn't compare to the 2010. The only thing I did, was take H Barlow's advice, and just stopped checking the fuel mileage. There is no hope that it can get even close to the '06, so why worry about it? Look after it, but enjoy it. And I am.
