Well I went and did it, I bought a 2010 white Laramie 3500 4X4, Looooaded. I couldn’t pass up the deal, I got it at Warrenton VA (SAFFORD CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE OF WARRENTON) for $50,995, their MSRP was $56,559, I saw the same truck no lower than $55,000 and as high as $61,000 at other dealers. I took the time to check every dealer in the nation, as I was willing to go where the deal was and “no one could beat their price. ” I am crazy about the truck; no kidding this is my “Dream Truck. ” Dodge did a wonderful job with the fit and finish and the plant in Mexico did a magnificent job with the assembly. I spent an entire day going through the truck, top to bottom, front to back. It is still a CTD but the reality is that it is a completely different rig. Someone at Dodge must be reading TDR and listened to what we have been asking for and they built it. My 2006 was a good truck and gave me zero problems but it doesn’t hold a candle to this 2010.

Yeah, I'm suffering sticker shock and it isn't even my name on the dotted line! Wow! I guess I am really out-of-touch on new truck prices... That truck should say "Peterbilt" on it, not "Dodge".

Congratulations, though, I'm sure you will like it a lot!

Congratulations! What do you like so much better with the '10 vs the '06?

Congrats on the new rig. I would love to have the 6 speed auto and exhaust brake. I like the look of the new dually bed but as said before 50K is a little high for a one ton rig. My trusty 05 will have to do plus the 500. 00 a month that use to pay for her now goes into the bank for a Pac brake-injectors-Fass-Goerand transmission. Ah the list goes on and on.

Congrat's on your new truck!!!!! From your post it's kinda hard to tell if your excited or not:-laf:-laf:-laf

First let me say that my 06 served me very well, it never one time left me stranded on the road and I never had to take it to the shop for anything other than scheduled maintenance. I pulled my 16K Fifth Wheel up and down the East coast not to mention through some two lane 11% grade roads in West Virginia. What I was never crazy about was that the Dodge light duty and heavy duty truck were basically the same size, unlike the Ford and Chevy. Second, I had a SLT, although I had leather seats and a NAV/CD/DVD installed it still wasn’t a Laramie and the seats were always uncomfortable. Third, although the 4 speed auto never gave me any problems it really needed a 5th gear, anything over 65 MPH and I was over 2G on the tack. Lastly, I say this as an aircraft mechanic and inspector; after inspecting both trucks from nose to tail it was very evident to me that the 2010 overall fit and finish quality is much better. It is all the little things like wires being zip tied and properly taped, hoses in the proper place, etc. etc. In the past have often told other truck owners, that the perfect heavy duty truck would be one with Ford like interior, mega cab room, CTD engine, and the Allison Trans. Well, Dodge did it they managed to put all the pieces together and made the perfect truck
