We're in Portland for a week and I need to talk to a dealer regarding noise and high temps in my NV5600 transmission when towing our 5er. Which dealer is the best to work with in Portland on service problems. With 70k on the truck, this should be covered on warranty.

Talk to Ken at Timberline Dodge. . They are no longer a "Dodge" dealer but are very good about working on them and honest. However, not sure about warrenty work.

If you need warranty work you may as well put the names of all the local 5 star dealers in a hat and pull one out. When I bought my `03 I went out of my way to use the dealer where I purchased the truck for service because I wanted to demonstrate some level of loyalty in the hopes that they wouldn't stick it to me if my truck needed emergency service or something relatively small. Now I'm turned off of using Dodge service altogether. I can't imagine a worse combination than a company jointly owned by a union and federal government, and don't trust them at all. At least with warranty service you eliminate the cost and only have to deal with the hassle of taking it to another dealer for service if the repair doesn't solve the problem. You also might try contacting Cummins Northwest. They aren't allowed to solicit work on Dodge trucks, but if you bring it in they will work on it and it might turn out to be something small.

Looks like I'm over my 7/70,000 drivetrain warranty. I talked to Corey at CR Transmissions (also known as Larry and Sons Transmissions) in SE Portland today. He seems like a good guy and very knowledgeable. Anyone had any work done there?
