Recall For Reflash?

I actually have two related questions:

1) Can I key my VIN into the Dodge recall website to learn if a reflash applicable to my truck has been issued?

I have asked this question three times on the Dodge.com website and each time I've received different non-answers. My favorite stupid answer was, "ask your dealer. "

I also received three computer generated messages back from Dodge.com in response to my questions asking me to respond and tell them how they did on answering my questions. The link to reply didn't work on any of the three emails.

I tried calling on the phone and asking to speak with a supervisor. The clown who took the call promised me I would receive a call back within one hour. I'm still waiting. That was a week ago.

2) Would Mike Mullenax, sag2, or Bob4x4 please tell me if the J35 or any other reflash applies to my 2008 Ram 3500 C&C? VIN 8G199062?

Would like to know as well as my build date was 12-07 and so far the truck runs like a champ. PS Harvey, I finally detected the regen sound and can tell when its doing its cleaning thing. Nice little burble added to the exhaust.....

Harvey, The J35 recall is for the Pick-up models only. It does not apply to the Cab/chassis model. You do have a RRT that needs to be done. It involves putting a longer vent hose on your fuel tank vent.

How important do you consider this? Or stated another way, should I have it done soon?

I have zero confidence in and similar expectations for the nearby Dodge dealers.

IMO I might as well e-mail them my Christmas wish list and sit by my door waiting for UPS.

Three or four years ago my '06 Ram was displaying the bad FCA symptoms which I wasn't familiar with at the time. I took it to the Lubbock Dodge dealer. The head diesel tech, who was clueless, advised me to use fuel injector cleaner.

I did some reading on TDR and replaced the FCA and cured my own problem.

I took my '08 Ram to Mike Mullenax, TDR member and knowledgeable Cummins tech at Elder Dodge in Athens, TX for a reflash in late 2008 . . . also 300 miles away.

In truth, it would be unfair for me to expect anything more from the closest dealer or the area dealers. I won't buy trucks from them and don't patronize their service departments either.

My home in Lubbock is maybe 1 1/2 miles from a dealer and I used to drive by the dealer several times a day. I have bought three Dodge Rams and a Chrysler hemi sedan from a Glenn Polk, a dealer 300 miles away.

There are 3 Dodge dealers within 10 miles of the house, but I've not had anything break that would require their diagnosis. If I need a technician, I call Bob at Diesel Power, he's a Dodge Ram owner and knows what matters...

The RRT involves putting a longer hose on the fuel tank vent. The hose that is on the vent from the factory is about 3 inches long. The replacment hose is about 18 inches long. I have seen some of the shorter hoses allow some dirt and bebris get into the fuel tank in a dusty envioroment. In my opinion it would be a good idea to get the RRT done.
