The quick answer is yep! Last weekend.

I unplugged the EGR. Installed a DPF-R and a H&S 4"SS down pipe and straight section back to the muffler.

I haven't had a chance to check the mileage yet.

The couple of things I have noticed is it takes a very long time to warm up and makes lots of noise out of the tail pipe!

you can only remove them for race purposes only lol, but its the darnedest thing how they just fall off all the time and we dont look back

I assume you will be running a programmer? If so, which one? I'm curious to see the mileage benefits you see.

:-laf Yeah, those dang things just can't seem to stay put. :-laf

No programmer.

I am running a DPF-R. It is not a programmer. There is no additional fuel. Very little if any smoke, even with a sharp jab of the throttle. It just resets the regen counter back to zero so it never gets up to the max count and causes a regen.

I run the H&S Mini-Maxx (which electronically disables the EGR) and a simple DPF delete pipe. It runs great, a whole new truck even on the "no power" setting. Fuel mileage was improved 30-50%.

I'm hoping to just delete the DPF and leave the EGR alone. The way the DPF-R works doesn't flash the computer, so the 'Spyware" on the factory computer doesn't see a re-flash. The EGR helps heat up the engine a whole lot faster, and the DPF is my biggest complaint.

The egr being functional is costing you mileage as well as the dpf. Hot oxygen depleted sooty exhaust is being put into the intake instead of 100% cool air and the motor then requires more fuel to make a given amount of power.

The other issue with the egr is the soot being recycled through the motor. It clogs up the turbo and makes the oil black and sludgy. I wish I did not have to delete to have decent mpg's and clean oil but until Dodge changes to a better system there really is no other choice.

I agree. If I had a new truck and had to make a choice which to delete, the EGR would be the one to go. This would also take a lot of the soot load off of the DPF, requiring fewer regenerations.

Just to give you California traveliers a heads up, last month I was northbound on Highway 101, just north of Eureka on a weekday morning with 5th wheel in tow, the CHP had a temporary checkpoint off to the right, he took a pole with a mirror and looked under the truck, he never looked under the hood, he asked me to rev it up just a little no smoke, and see the registration, it took about 45 seconds to complete, I don't know if this is a one time event, or not, I didn't ask, there was a big rig who was next in line, never had that happen before, or since, just something to think about

Yikes! Sounds like California's finest have found a new way to make money... . I wonder how much the fine would be if they see the DPF gone?

Why not just gut it out like we used to do to the early CATs? Then it looks like it's there,,,,but it's not. I've not seen one, so I don't know what they look like. My 2nd Gen does not have one. Ha Ha. The EGR system was not good for gas engines. i can only imagine what they do for a diesel!!!
