OK, manufacture date sept/ 05. 4700miles. code 2609 if I remember: intake heater grid. (fixed) also code for wheel speed sensor (fixed) bad fuel milage : 10-12 in town maybe 17 on the road. seat clunks on accel. lumbar support "unwinds" from setting in about 20 miles. Hum from rear end @ 70. Paint/clear coat is micro thin and very vunerable. Now hearing a turbo whine that was not audible when newer (two months ago) Whats next? (still love the truck tho... Mostly the cummings)

Truck is 5 months old on the 1st. 42,000 miles

2609 code keeps comeing up, got edge to clear on start up. came on at 36,900 miles.

charging system is charging at 15. 2 volts. I dont know if this is a little high or not.

I dontfeel like taking my edge out to take to the dealer

over all very happy. But then again what other choices to i have?

Built 5-06 in Mexico. 15k on it now. CEL came on once and went off after a couple of starts so I never found out what it was ( I have an Actron scanner/diagnostic tool). My seats do NOT clunk. AC could be cooler on a hot day, but still OK: I'll check the R34 before next summer. Leather seats not very comfy. Love G56. Getting 17mpg on commute of 80+ round trip miles and 70% freeway, 12 towing 15000 lbs all-up weight on 3700 mile trip at 75mph. No real problems to mention. Most gripes are design related, not quality issues. Overall I LOVE the truck. I also stopped in the local Cummins service center and asked some questions fuguring I would get better answers than from a dealer. They said they had not seen ANY 06s with problems come in. Seems to be a good truck

I purchased my 06 2500 last november. It had a build date of 10/05 so I know it was the Ugly Red Headed Stepchild hanging around the lot. The dealer let it go for 31,199 (43,700 MSRVP).

I was having some funky issues with my tow haul mode and the battery temp problem. Turned out to be a screwey ECM. Fixed under warrenty. Now the trucks operates fine. Funny thing was before the ECM replacement, I was getting 13. 2 MPG average. After the ECM replacement 16. 4. Go figure.

Mine is an early 06 as well with 21K now. I had the two recalls done in Jan 06 and complained then about hard shifting and tow/haul "problems". No codes per dealer. It is running fine, but occasionally shifts hard like it is shifting locked. I can't make it do it, but usually it happens on moderate acceleration getting on the I unloaded.

Tow/haul is worthless. It will hold gears OK on acceleration, but won't downshift. I drive it like I did my 2000 work truck and my two 12Vs shifting it myself. Do you think I might have your ECM problem?

A friend has a 2003 48re HO and it shifts "better" than the 06.

Mileage is comparable to the 2000 SO 47re 4. 10 until I tow. Mileage then is worse in direct proportion to the foot! The 06 has similar power to my slightly bombed 98, but gets 10-15% worse mileage. 06 is still 10-15% better on fuel than the bosses 06 D/A Z with equal towing power.

No problems with mine but I went with a manual transmission. If your nervous read about the problems the ford guys are having, don't worry most of the people who are having problems have upgrades on their trucks and drive it like they stole it.

06 reg cab G56

Had the leaky heater hose fixed

fuel leak from pump, they've had it 3 weeks :{ and will finally it get back tomorrow :) , but I've been told that before

Don't Be Scared

DC replaced the ECU and the universal garage door opener at 14000 miles. 26000 now and it is running great. Don't Be Scared#ad

06 megacab, best truck i have ever owned, only problem in 15 k miles was the rec. door replaced in ac system. You won't regret it!

bob4x4

mopar clamp broke, 2nd clamp instaled by dealer, not mopar failed, new clamp ordered. New clamp and tack welding held. No crimps on the whole 4" factory exhaust, just clamps. Checked truck in parking lot after the " she's fixed now" and 2 muffler hangers were barely holding. I fixed this my self in the parking lot. Probably part of initial prob.

06 stock MC 3500, 26k, great truck, but tow/haul tows worse then 'off'. Milage is good, ~19 @ 65MPH unloaded. Slight tick in steering linkage, and I believe the rear shocks are tatered as it skips bad with the frost heaves (I do have overloads which don't help). Going in today to see what TSB/flash's are valid and hope to fix tow/haul.

Mine's been good.

Within a month after picking the truck up new, I:

Had transfer case replaced under warranty as it wouldn't engage 4L from new.

Had reverse gear stuff replaced in the transmission as it would violently pop out of gear when backing up on a hill.

Had Coolant leak at passenger side back of block fixed.

Had a reflash done for long cranking starts.

Had major water leaks down both a-pillars sealed.

Then at 35k miles, the factory installed Jacobs vacuum pump siezed. This shredded the belt, snapped the tensioner pulley and sent into the back of the radiator, and broke the fan shroud.

Shocks were completely worn out by 42k.

By 51k miles, the back window is leaking badly... so much that the rear underseat cubbies fill up with several inches of water!

Ball joints needed replaced by 68k.

At 71k, the second Jacobs vacuum pump failed.

Injector line #4 split at 73k miles.

The truck currently has 86k on it. My door seals have been very noisy since soon after new. The interior plastic scratches very easily. The driver's seat foam was cut by the wire and made my legs go numb. My headlight dimmer switch occasionally gets stuck on bright. The a-pillar grab handles cracked and broke. The seat belt retractors wore out in short order.

Other than these few minor items and a few more, I've never had a problem, and the truck's been great!!!

Could this have anything to do with it?? At least the worn shocks , worn ball joints and maybe even the A-pillars and back window leaking?? Could also explain why the a pillar handle broke, at last if it was the passenger side that broke. :-laf:-laf

Just kidding around... I KNOW you take good care of your truck!!!
