Trouble code P2266

I have a CEL light and got a code off the odometer display of P2266 .

I looked through the site but could not find a listing. The truck seems to be running normally . I had the J35 update done in May and actually had an improvement in performance. Recently drove from L. A. to Reno and back approx 500 miles each way with no problems and peak mileage of 21. 7 mpg as per the display.

Anyone have a translation for the P2266 code?

I had just verified that with a web search. I have the new style replaceable element type fuel filter handy.

I'll try replacing the old style and see what happens.



On a side note, My odometer display did not display the TC clearly to my satisfaction. The last two digits did not look right . They were both sixes but were not identical. I just thought it looked screwy.

Perhaps one of the sixes was the letter "b"? The trouble codes (I think) are in hexadecimal, so they can have the letters a-f in them.

That's possible, but I can't find any reference to a P226b fault code.

I tracked down a decent code reader and checked the trouble code. It is indeed a P226b . I do not see that code anywhere in the literature. Any Ideas?

TSB 18-024-09 introduced, among other things, a new DTC:

If it's still in warranty, it may be time for a trip to the dealer.

Based on the code, they will clean the turbo on Chryslers dime and if it comes back, no when it comes back, they'll replace the turbo and other things... ... ... . hope you got that warranty still in place. Chrysler spent 6K on my upgrades last week (turbo, egr, cat conv).

Per the mfg document J-19 the turbo is considered part of the emission system and covered by that warranty .

It lists a short and long term warranty period the first being 5 years or 100K miles , the second being 7 years or 70K miles .

This may be peculiar to California, but my servicing dealer seems to agree that the turbo is covered under a number of banners.

Only time will tell.

Mines 47 and change so you're in the same boat I was. Takes a day for them to do the replacement AFTER they have tried the turbo cleaning procedure.

Oddly I don't seem to be experiencing any power loss issues as a result, and the engine brake works normally.



Did you have a lot of out of pocket related to your turbo issues?

And now just to aggravate me the CEL has gone out . the code is still readable from the OBD port. I think it's toying with me.

Chrysler took the whole nut. My CEL also went away after a few driving sequences. Just a day in the shop and voila! Truck seems to be getting better mileage also.
