I was told that the overhead would show when the cleaning cycle was running since the last flash. That was over 5k miles ago. Has anyone had the overhead tell them the status of the cleaning cycle?

I have NEVER had any indication on the overhead yet and I have had all latest flash updates too. Not a good system when you can't tell when it is in regen. stupid engineering deficit in my estimation.

same here, you can only tell a regen is happening when the exhaust starts to burble at idle or a slight Oh Nelly throttle response on acceleration. My truck is all stock so far... .

I do not think this is an engineering issue, usually the engineer wants to overwhelm the user with information. The engineer wants to have available all the parameters when they are known to make a decision.

The way this usually works is during the development cycle, Marketing and the Service department will write the functional specifications on what they want to sell and support. The engineering staff will agree or disagree on what they can provide to support the needs of the other departments. Once these are agreed to and are signed off by the executives. The designers will start the design process on the products. Most of the time the marketing and service department wants to limit what is provided to the end user.

Most of the end users do not care how a product is working, they just want to turn the key have the product do what ever it is design to do. Why else for idiot lights in cars and trucks instead of gauges.

Oh one more thing. If we provided everything you wanted, what would you complain about then?

I can hear it now. My truck does ________ every time it goes into regen, why couldn't they make it where I can't tell.

I have had my overhead display regen in progress and the percent done it took about 6 miles to do the regen cycle

I had a message once indicating 80% full . I just kicked the truck into third and drove a few miles at 45 mph . It seemed to satisfy the computer.

I've never had any other occurence of the same message. As above the only indication of Regen is the characteristic eng noise and behavior .
