did you remove the door? Might try a junk yard...

yeah i removed it and repaired it with some gorilla glue. its workfine now just the fan motor. took it to the closest dealer to see about gettin the motor. for thier work to repair it they wanted to tear off all the dash and charge about $850. 00. so i checked just fro the motor it was $400. been looking around but the local junkyards don't have anything that new.

Unless things have changed drastically since my 03, the blower motor is super easy to replace ~ just a few screws and it falls out the bottom of the dash. Takes maybe 10 minutes. How much just for the fan?

I just replaced one on my 2005 and it was only $150 for the part from the dealer (they do discount some, not sure what list is but I'm sure it's not $400). Takes about 5 minutes to swap out.

I looked up the aftermarket part numbers on Advance's site and it looks like the same motor so somebody is marking that thing way up.

The big problem I have some of the aftermarket ones like the one Advance carries is a very lightweight motor. The factory one is seriouly like twice the weight of the made in China aftermarket one. No idea where the factory one is sourced, could be China but it definately seems to be higher quality.

that sure beats paying $400 for it. i checked with the parts department and thats what they qouted me. the thing i dont get is the service manager was aware of these certain years of trucks having the door break off and damaging the blower motor. wouldnt u think there would be some sorta of recall of sorts.

I have not seen a damaged motor from a door dropping in it yet. I have seen the pivot piece throw it out of balance and shake like crazy many times. Have you seen it your self?
