I have an '06 with a G-56. It left me with a no start situation. It's the clutch switch. What I need to know is if I can bypass it without worrying about ECM damage. I jumped the switch to get home and am thinking of running a manual switch if I can do it with no consequences versus replacing the factory "made in mexico" switch. Is the clutch switch just a normal open and closed switch?

yes you can jump the switch with out any ecm problems. i've had my clutch switch jumped from the first day i bought my truck {4 yrs. ago}. you just have to be careful you have the trans in neutral before you start the truck. i always leave my truck in neutral and just use the parking brake even on the steepest incline.

I put a toggle switch on mine so I can turn it off.

I jumped mine out since putting in the Southbend DD clutch. Just make sure you let anyone who may be driving your truck know about it. I had a kid start my truck in gear at a hand car wash, he freaked and had the breaks smahed to the floor and the truck was idling with the back tires spinning amd sliding the truck slowly forward! He finally turned off the key as I was running up to the truck, he said he thought it was an auto! Thank god he didn't hit anything.
