2 new batteries: Now engine light is on

I replaced both my batteries today, and now the check engine light is on #@$%!. I called the dealer and they said to unplug the batteries and let them sit and the light might go off. I did this and the check engine light is still on. I do not have a code checker, but I am wondering if anyone has had this issue before, and what did you do to resolve the problem.....

you probably have a low voltage code from the batteries being removed. get yourself down to auto zone and have them clear it. I have to clear the code on my `06 if I disconnect the batteries. :-laf

If it is a false code setting it will reset it's self after three start and run cycles. Not three starts and shut offs but like three trips to the store. bg

Double check connections,the sensor is under the driver side Battery, the system charges from rider to drive battery. start truck and let run if the rider side battery starts getting warm (shut down)check all battery connections,including grounds. . if the rider side is being over charged. . it will go BOOOOO.

MIne did the same thing and triggered a "low voltage" code. After 9 starts it clears itself.

I replaced my factory Batt. with some die hard platinum. I got a code low volts, took about 100 or so miles for the code to clear. If this is your problem it will clear in time.

Is it possible that a new battery was not fully charged? I don't understand why removing a battery or disconnecting them would cause this. I disconnect my battery for a couple of months each year when I store the vehicle and "knock on wood" I have not had this problem.

Not sure why it did it, but maybe a sensor got a little confused.

Some times a few on-off cycles of the key or start/stops will turn off the check engine light. Sounds like a number between 5 and 9 might be the magical number in this case.

An "Ok" button to clear the warning message would be nice, much like the ones on the CAT haul trucks.
