Did anybody else get a recall notice today? It says it applies to some 2009 and 2010 Ram trucks.

"The Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) actuator gears on your vehicle may break and result in the inability to fully control the HVAC functions. "

Fix: Chrysler will service your vehicle by updating the HVAC control head software and test all of the HVAC mode door acutators.

FYI for those interested.

Havent gotten the notice, but dealer did mine when it was in to diagnose bad axle u-joints. Goes back in for u-joint replacement friday along with activation of the high idle feature.

My dealer can't figure out how to activate the high idle. Will you ask the dealer what the option is called in the computer, so they can enable it on mine? On a side note, do I have to ground the pin by the clutch first?

Anyone got/done the ignition switch recall?

I got it, but aint doin it until I -really- gotta goto the dealer, as I have no confidence in them... sad.

I think one of the Dodge technicians on the forum mentioned that the 'high idle' setting/feature was under the Cab & Chassis menus, and not the pick-up truck menus (even though it may be a pick-up). Try that.

dlmetzger,

I think u are correct. Dealer told me that feature was only on the 3500 c/c not on the 2500. Took their word for it. I didnt think there would be a difference in the programming, but what do i know.

hmm i have a whistling sound at highway speeds coming through somewhere, can't pin point it, but when i turn the hvac control to the defrost mode the whistling goes away:confused: Have not brought it to the the dealer knowing that they would want to rip a lot of the dash apart to try to find it. I'm curious if this recall would affect this

As for the high idle. . I have it.

Pretty sad that after the 3rd gen issues with the hvac controls, they still can't get it right with a new design in the 4gen. Do they not physically test anything anymore!

i had the recall done yesterday. dealer said only computer reprogramming was necessary. he related that they haven't encountered any case where gears or service was required.

Took mine in last week. Apparently the stock motor for the defroster door is a high tork motor and may break the door. The replacement took the tech about 5 mins. but said if the door breaks, then the entire dash has to come out. Also had an updated reflash done that took about 40 mins. I've never downloaded anything on my PC or laptop that took that long.

Well mine is being done at this very moment as well as the Idle-up configuration. I'll post what they say later.

Craig

On another note. The latest reflash appears to have made the exhaust brake a little more aggressive, no noticeable negative change in power.

Has there been no person at Dodge able to address the HVAC door issue since 2002? I've had busted HVAC doors on 2005 and 2006 trucks at work... and now these too? This is rediculous.
