Don't know what year model you have but mine broke when almost new, simple replacement and dealer had the part in stock. Took less than five minutes. bg

Best I can remwember they just pulled the old assy. out and stuck a new one in. I went to the nearest dealer here which is Allen Samuels. I would check another dealer first, if it is still in warranty don,t go to service writer, go to parts first and see if it is available then go to service writer. bg

Hey Members,

Anyone find a fix for the el cheapo lumbar adjustment knob. While running mine up to the max adjustment the knob fell off in my hand. There is a small white reverse threaded plastic part inside the knob that breaks as it has less than a 1/8" thickness to it. The dealer says there are no service parts and I have to buy the whole seat back including the leather cover etc etc etc. My back is killing me so any suggestions are appreciated.

Mark,

On my 2004 the white plastic piece broke off where the roll pin attached it to the lumbar support band. It caused the bracket to break off at the adjustment knob, too. Since the threads on the white plastic piece were OK, I drilled out the center and put a threaded eye-bolt through it with a locknut. I ran the roll pin through the eye-bolt at put the assembly back together. I lost a little bit of adjustment but I was just happy to have the padding back in my lower back (I'm 6'3" tall and I have had the lumbar broken for over a year). I just put a 1000 miles on my truck twice (to Wichita and back) and got fed up enough to do something about it.

Like everyone else, I got tired of being told be three different dealers I would have to buy the whole seatback. One of these days I am going to pull my seats and fix them up nicely (will probably do a leather kit when I do). It feels good to have my lumbar support back).

Hey guys, how do you get the black assembly out from the metal bracket? I can turn it about 1/2 what it looks like is needed. I don't want to break anything else. Joe
