I'm not sure if I want them or not, BUT if I do, what kind should I get and who might install them near Lancaster, PA? I want them to balance the truck when I pull my fifth wheel. It doesn't squat that much but. .

I have the Firestone RideRites, no drill installation. I put them on in about an hour and a half, good instructions. I did not install the compressor, just the bags and a couple of shrader valves.

No more sag when I tow my 5vr, very happy with them.

I've had mine installed for about five years now without any trouble. They install fairly easily.

Air bags do a good job of leveling the suspension when towing, but be aware they do limit the suspension travel and may affect the empty ride even with the air pressure is lowered to 5-10 psi in the bags.

What type of bags are yuou looking for? There are two types.

Load assist. They bolt to your frame and to axle to help assist in the extra weight. Down side: Rougher ride than stock when not loaded

Plus side: Fairly inexpensive and easy to install

4 link - Replaces leaf springs with airbags so you are set up like a 18 wheeler.

Pros - Smooth ride, empty or loaded, and will help prevent axle wrap if pushing high torque (due to the trailing arms that work with the 4 link setup)

Cons - Expensive ($2000-4000) for a kit, and more involved to install.

If you only need to assist the truck to ride level I reccomend the PacBrake bags. I have owned and installed both Firestone and the Pac bags THe Pac is a MUCH higher quality unit. IMHO

I'll second the PAC Bags. Do it yourself it only takes about 1 - 2 hrs. I did mine for the same reason, works great when hauling heavy loads too.

Can these aitbags be installed when you have a hidden hitch setup under the bed? I know some mount around the shock on the axle correct?

Most bolt to frame and leaf. Will it work with hidden hitch, depends on brand. My guess is some custom shaped brackets will solve it.
