I was planning on connecting my factory installed satellite radio antenna to my aftermarket portable Sirius satellite radio. Has anyone done this? I have a 2007 Quad Cab and the service manual has conflicting information. It shows the factory satellite receiver (and hence the antenna cable termination plug I need) installed under the passenger side rear seat. However in a different place it shows the satellite antenna cable routed to the front of the truck under the driver's side door sill and kick plate. I have a nice 15 foot extension cable at the ready as soon as I can dig up the end of the factory cable. Appreciate anyone who can tell me where it really is.

Thanks

I have the 2007 QC 5. 9. The connection point on mine is under the dash, passenger side, behind the kick panel, in front of the door. Since my truck camper covers the factory antenna on the roof, I picked up a portable antenna from Radio Shack that I lay on the dash. That system may work for you as well - you can take the antenna when you remove the radio.

bheiting: Thanks, but I think you are talking about the regular AM/FM antenna cable. I have opened that panel previously and what was there was an AM/FM antenna joint (connector), but not the satellite radio connection - unless it is there too and I overlooked it. This is an important point though as this is where the "Direct FM adapter" used to pump the satellite radio output directly into the factory stereo can be installed - I am planning on doing that. But I still need to find where the factory satellite radio antenna on the back center of the roof plugs into the factory satellite radio reciver - which I am not going to use because I want a portable satellite radio.

If you fill out your signiture we'd know what year and trim level your truck is. On mine, the sirius receiver and antenna cord are behind the glovebox. Open the glovebox and you'll see there are some tabs that hold it from opening any further. push/pull those to allow the box to open all of the way. then you can see the receiver and the sirius antenna cord. it has a blue end on it.

I put in my own sat. radio when the free one expired. I use x m and the antena that came in the truck worked just fine. Have had it in for almost 3 years now. Its behind the glove box and behind the kick panel on passenger side.

bheiting, carisu, and DanSullivan: Thanks all. I found the receiver and the antenna cable splice just as you all described. There was an antenna cable joint behind that kick panel just as bheiting described first and I hadn't noticed it when I was in there previously (mine had yellow ends). Also found the receiver behind the glovebox per carisu and Dan. So I am all set now. Appreciate the help! Sorry about the blank signature - still working out the kinks in my e-response.
