I saw an ad for a truck and camper however the camper sold but truck is available.

2010 4x4 CC DRW SLT Bighorn with 7k mi and set up to carry a Lance camper.

If I go newer this would be what I'm looking for. White with SLT and the camper hardware. Around $1k or so for hardware.

A guy bought the camper and truck new, drove it 7k mi and traded for a $350k motorhome.

The dealer is asking $48,800 after he bought it from the RV dealer. I told him I could get a new Laramie for around $46k or so and to give me his best price. He mentioned $44k but will get back to me tomorrow with his bottom line.

I'm thinking for a used 10 right around $40k would be a decent price.

What do you guys think?

Also, are there any changes in the 10 and 11?

I'm with Grizzly. Rebates are available on a new one and you'll be less likely to get one with flaws. Sometimes late model new ones were traded back early in their service life because the truck had irritating flaws.

I imagine the guy and/or his wife thought the Lance camper was too small and traded for the motorhome. I wouldn't consider the used '10 unless it was at a considerable discount. For a comparison, price a new comparable truck at another dealer. The add-on camper hauling equipment has no real value as far as the used truck's purchase price.

I got the bottom line price today. $41,263

Based on the new Laramie I drove with a list price of $54k, I figure at invoice minus rebates about $10k off.

I'm not sure of the price difference between a Laramie and SLT Bighorn, but assume around $4-6k. So, I could get a new truck similar to what he is selling for around $40k. Hard to believe you can buy a brand new truck for less than a year old used one.

Yep, that's why the first years depreciation on a new truck is so much. There has to be enough incentive (discount/depreciation) for the buyer to buy the used truck vs. a new one. Evidently, the seller of the used truck hasn't faced that reality or the seller has the price inflated in order to offer a phony inflated value on a possible trade-in. Also the finance rate on a new truck is usually lower.

I don't have a trade as my 03 Ford 4x4 CC SB 7. 3 w/ 86kmi should sell easily private party.
My credit union is offering 1. 9% minus . 25 this month for my birthday. 1. 65% for 5 years on a vehicle is pretty good.
