I've been away from tdr for a while,

Looking for thoughts, I'm considering selling my 07 3500 Quad Long Single Rear Wheel 5. 9L G56 with only 32,000 miles. Truck is a Loaded SLT/ThunderRoad with Sun Roof and Nav.

Considering a new crew with the 68RFE or maybe even a gas half ton, just dont use the truck the way I used the previous diesels.

thoughts?

I have an 03 that I have thought of selling, but with the way money is and the economy I like not having any payments and my ins. is finally getting cheaper. I don't use the diesel like I should, it's my DD and use it to pull a 2000 LBS once a year!! I would love a new bigger cab but don't want to spend all that money!!!

If you can part with the money then I say do it!! Me on one income and a stay at home wife with twin 3 year olds the new ride is a no no!!!

Go for it. Trucks should be used for what they were built to do. You'll be surprised what your truck is worth.

You can say that again. A guy I work with just picked up an '06 QC short bed with the G56 with 32,000 miles on it. Get this, the truck was listed for $37,500 and he paid $35,000 for it. That's nearly as much as I paid for my 2007 new. Heck, if someone would offer me that kind of money for mine, I'd sell it in a heartbeat.

Are we talking 5. 9, G56, QC, shtbd, and "4x4's" ?? I have a used 2005 2wd, QC, shtbd, G56 with 37K mileage and paid $19,185 3yrs ago when diesel was $4/gl in NV. It may not be as comfortable as the newer trucks but that motor and transmission work well together.

You might want to get rid of it before the gas prices climb too much higher!!

Good luck.

Mark

At least regionally, the late 5. 9L 4x4 Quad Cabs are pulling top dollar. I don't have an explanation for it, but it is down right amazing to me.

The 5. 9 G-56 qcsb's are everywhere. The longbed is the scarce one. My buddy looked for six months before settling on an '05 auto w/70,000K.

I wish I could keep my 07, I have way to much $$$ into it to sell it (sig is NOT updated) and would love to get a new half ton hemi. My brother bought one AND his wife bought one and they are gorges inside. My brothers truck is a sport with the body colored bumpers, and the new hood with the 2 small scoops, and it looks sharp! I normally dont like the sport packages (I like chrome bumpers) but his is nice.

Yes, they are hard to find, look at sig. My brother couldn't find one and asked if I was willing to sell mine to him. The NV5600 is the better trany, but with only one year production with the 325/600 CTD, make it a rare find, then find one with low miles.

My brother had to pay off his 03 Hemi with the NV4500 and buy my truck and the bank was willing to finance him with cash to spare, they gave it a value of around 25K.

truck now has 60K and the clutch is slipping, going to order a southbend and a 6. 7 damper then decide wether or not to keep

Trizae, what do you look to gain selling the 07 and getting a new truck? You stated that you don't use it the way it should be used, but are contemplating a new truck to..... not get used the way it should??

Granted, the new trucks are GORGEOUS, but unless you plan to do a full DPF and EGR delete, they just aren't worth losing the 5. 9 for in my opinion. I removed the intake plate on the 6. 7 I swapped into my 03, and it was filthy, CAKED with soot. No way I would run a 6. 7 stock for long.

since the clutch failure, I can now justify a few upgrades, i can actually use my smarty and maybe jet my fuel mileage up. very excited for the future of my truck

Check your production date on the 2007. If it was built in December '06 then good chance it has the 6. 7 ratio G56. (AE trans) Makes resale $$$ better.
