The turbo on my 01 is shot and I searched and found this place.

Dodge Pick-up Truck Turbocharger from Turbocharger pros

Any of you ever heard of them or dealt with them? I did a lot of research on them, and the only complaints that I saw were from foriegn people that you could tell really didn't understand english. I figured that was probably where the problem came from. ( lack of needed gaskets, bolts, etc )

Thanks in advance for the suggestions and help.

Mike

Best to stick with a reputable shop, preferably one of the site sponsors, or find a brick and mortar store locally that works on Diesels.

Might want to check the TDR classifieds as well. People that install twins or are upgrading to a new truck may have parts left over.

I'm with Sticks. Don't forget - you get what you pay for . . . MHO - look for a "previously owned" take off unit much cheaper.

Example: I sold my old stock HX-35W for $200. Good for me and good for the buyer. Nothing wrong with it, just a take off that was sitting around my garage.

Good luck

When i put my twins on my old turbo is up for sale !!!!!!! Now thats a take off lol

Kelly, you should kind of tell them what your "old" turbo is, it really isn't a "take-off" in the classic sense. Yours is not a stock one that was replaced by a better one, its a better one that was installed to replace a better one that was installed when you took the stocker off - god that was some time ago? If memory serves me correctly the one that's on your truck now is a 64/16?

What's the deal with the twins anyway? Installation to take place before the Fling I presume?

Talking with Mary about going, she's not into it "I really don't like all that 'truck stuff' anyway". She can really be a "Debbie Downer" sometimes, doesn't look past the "truck stuff" to see the social aspect of meeting new people? Doesn't see the forest thru the trees - hence forth my social dilemma. :{

Thanks guys. I was thinking I should just spend the money also. I know every time I go the cheaper route on anything, it always comes back to bite me in the rear. And ends up costing double to fix it right.

I'd either call High Tech Turbo,River City Turbo or Engineered Diesel for a turbo.

if your looking for a bone stocker then shop around a bit as Joe stated as they are lieing in most guys shops not being used. I would never buy a turbo from a shop that is not readily seen mentioned on one of the big diesel boards... ... . Andy
