I am also wondering if it would be a good idea to run a wire from the kit to EACH battery, in parallel, so that the voltage stays the same, but the current is drawn equally from BOTH batteries.

I don't follow your logic here. The batteries are already connected to each other in parallel. Wiring to "one" battery automatically connects to both batteries by virtue of the big battery cables connecting the two batteries.

Adding another, tiny wire to connect the two batteries would be like adding more flow to a river by peeing in it.

Well Ryan, thanks for the graphic description!! Being the kind of guy I am, I definitely DON"T pee in rivers, so I guess I'll skip the second wire !! :-laf

Thanks for the input !!

What!? C'mon! I pretty much see every natural body of water as a giant urinal.

Regarding a good place to tap into for a run-only signal, the heater controls (specifically the blower control) are a good choice regardless the model year.

Wow. You all went through all that trouble for gauges? My Pyro and transmission Temp control boxes are tied into the same power line with a 2a fuse that is tapped into the cig lighter +wire. The gauge lights are all tied together on the same dimmer wire with no fuse. I have been running it like this for over five years and over 100,000 miles.
