Where I work we have a 96 dually we are looking to sell. Just wondering what it is worth. 96 dually, club cab, long bed, 2wd, auto, 3. 54 rear, fiberglass cap, 205,000 miles, tran rebuilt within about last 20,000 miles, new front brakes and rotors last year, some minor dents and rust, engine as far as I know never toughed, runs strong. Any thought ideas or interest.

Thanks.

Oh just north of Clarion PA

I see trucks like that priced at around $7000 and up here in TX all the time and they dont seem to be on the market long at all. Of course I live in a truck heavy state and they usually dont have a rust either. I paid 6500 for the 97 2500 thats in my sig about a month ago, all original no rust just has peeling paint on hood and roof, cracked dash(usual problems) and 212'000 miles

$7000 would not even come close to getting mine, IF it was for sale that is.

I agree, mine arent for sale but if they were they would be pricey. I honestly think the prices of the 12 valve and eventually 24 valve trucks(5. 9) are going to soar giving the current offerings

My truck has 125,000 orginal miles. Is a 98 12v 3500 4X4. Back seat never had anyone sit in it. Body and Paint perfect. I'm second owner. First owner at 123,000 miles experimented with high performance injectors. Cost him a engine. Prior to that had algie problem and dealer talked him into replacing all the fuel lines, gas tank, even had the rear bed tank (76 gal. ) removed and cleaned. The poor guy (literally) as the last straw was talked into (again by the dealer) replaced steering box, and a complete new front end including the springs. Now this truck had only 123K miles. Now this was a deal almost three years ago at 15K. I looked at a new one prior to buying it, and this one looked better.

4500 around here all day and thats what I paid for my 12v 4x4 with one spot of rust with a manual. I know we all love out 12v's but the prices on them are out of control

and being that its a company truck, start low if they dont name a price. 9 times outa 10 they dont know what they have or care to either.

A company owned truck like that was probably purchased years ago as new or almost new and depreciated to zero value on their income tax return, also years ago. It could be sold and bought cheaply and nobody would lose. any money.

Looks like we need a class on reading comprehension.

A 4x4 around here would be in the 7k ballpark but being a 2wd auto you take a big hit. I see them in the 3500-4500 range.

Some folks read what they -want- to see.

I paid $7200 for my clean 97 4x4 CC Auto with 178k miles a year ago. You will have a hard time finding a good clean 12v around here that price.

I paid $6500 for my 97 2500, auto, 4x4, with 250k on it, body is not perfect but not bad with no rust. I have put about $1700 into it though, and a lot of hours making thing "right" again. I've had it about a little over a year now.

It would be better if it was a 4x4. Will not get around on ice or snow very good. Do not make a large offer!

I just purchased my 97 for $8000 with 182500 miles on it. Drives great as the track bars, ball joints and the like were just replaced in the front end. The guy I bought if from is a mechanic for a large truck company and the engine looks clean.

I tried to sell my 94 2500 early last year for 4800 and had no takers, 2WD, near Philly. Cap, 245000 miles, auto, paint issue on roof, new michelin tires. If I were you I would make an offer, not too high, to start a negotiation with the owners.

I tried selling my '98 12-valve 2-wheel drive last fall but didn't get any bites even going under $7000. The body is darn near perfect and completely rust free, and like new interior. . . excellent truck overall. Just that the darned paint is peeling. Gave up and decided to hang onto it, for now.
