My apologies if this topic has been discussed thoroughly elsewhere. I have an Air Dog on the way and want to be sure I have all the misc. parts I need before I drop the tank. The VP inlet banjo will be replaced with a 12mm X ½” male fitting for the fuel supply hose. I assume the sending unit would be most accurate at the VP inlet? Any recommendations for sending unit fittings/adapters here or elsewhere? Is a snubber needed with my existing Autometer pressure gauge?

I recently installed an Air Dog II. I ended up ordering fittings from Vulcan to put my sending unit right at the pump inlet. This did require cutting the quick connect fitting off of the rubber line. The part numbers I used are:

M1208
POET8

My guess about the snubber is that you would need one.

It's been a couple years since I installed mine. But there is a port in the base for the sending unit. I had to add wire to reach my Edge attitude though. Solder conections and shrink wrap wires - no issues.

I would suggest installing the sending unit up-stream of the fuel filter (either on the Air Dog or the factory unit) as monitoring the gauge will help you determine when it's time to change the filter.

This is the very reason I chose to use the Vulcan components. I felt it would be better to monitor pressure at the vp44 inlet, and not have to add wire to existing gauge harness.

Hey bud, the guy said he bought an AIr Dog - I was just passing along info on what I did. No need for anybody to start a product dispute. You can like what you did and I'll like what I did.

Oh man, I didn't mean any harm. I like my Air Dog II, I just didn't like putting the sending unit in the top of the ADII pump block. I thought it would be better to read fuel pressure at the vp44 inlet due to the failures these injection pumps tend to see from fuel starvation. Given that, I modified my ADII setup a little to take the fuel pressure reading from where I thought would be the best place.
