I just installed an fs-2500 bypass and changed my oil.

I think I put to much oil in to compensate for the bypass filter.

Should I have just put in the amount it calls for? Also sounds like

it has a whine sound to it now.

If you got instructions with your FS-2500, it says you need to add 1. 5 extra quarts, for 13. 5 total.

I was torn between the Amsoil kit and the FS-2500 so I did a bunch of reading online. It seems as though most people who have been running Amsoil stuff longer prefer their older setup. I went with the FS-2500.

Between the FS-2500, the AirDog, the intake and exhaust, I've got all kinds of noise. You get used to it.

I had a feeling the noise was coming from my airbox
so I took the two pieces of pipe back apart pulled the baffle
out and put it back in, and put the pipes and box back together
and the noise is gone. So I'm figuring somthing was not right along
that path when I put it back together the first time.

Ken my bypass is mounted on the passenger side rail underneath.
Cosmo how long have you been running your fs-2500?
I didn't even see that in the directions about adding 13. 5. I new I had
to add but dummy me added to much and I had to drain some out.

I've been running it just about 4000 miles or so. I took an oil sample before, and I'll take one at 5000 miles when I do my first change and then send them both in.

Nope. There must be a LOT of <2 micron soot. :-laf

However, it's cleaning up 60k miles of buildup, 45k of which had EGR/DPF installed. After I change the oil and both filters maybe I'll start seeing a difference. Or maybe not. I've got friends running Amsoil setups so one of these days I'll compare dipsticks.
