Just came back from the NY Auto show. Just jumped into a Mega Cab that was there- trimmed out kinda like my truck is. I can't believe how similar it feels in the driver seat! Yes the interior is different- doors- dash etc. but the seat really feels the same. The cab itself must be an exact carryover. The steering collumn, seat placement etc. etc. all feels remarkably similar. It was real redeeming because I was ready for the green monster to explode within! I'm happy with mine- it ain't going anywhere if I have any say :D

Seperate note-- Fiat is really doing a good job with the interiors in all lines, especially the high line models. My Wife really likes the new Journey, and the interior in that looks great.

I felt the 4th I sat in was much more comfortable than mine. The seats are softer, the dash higher quality, and they've raised the headliner a dab. I like the styling and the lack of emissions more on my '07,but the 4th interiors are nicer.

Most of the time the guys who don't like the new trucks were never considering buying a new one anyway but some wish they could.

I owned an '01 then an '06 now an '08. I've liked the newer one better than the previous model each time I bought a new one.

I admire the new Gen IVs but am carefully avoiding dealer lots. I have not even looked at a Gen IV up close and don't plan to. I'd probably love to own one but I'm going to aviod the tempatation.

I moved from a 2nd generation (2002 ETH/DEE 3500) to a 4th generation, so I don't know how different the 4th gens are from a 2004 3rd generation truck, but I can tell you that the 2nd gen and 4th gen trucks are as different as chalk and cheese (as the Brits say) in terms of comfort, quietness, features, ride, etc. The biggest problem I have now is in getting any stick time - my wife loves the new truck so much that she has put far more towing miles on it than I have.

Fiat had nothing to do with the new anything on any of the Chrysler cars and trucks. The new improvements were in the engineering stages when the feds bailed Chrysler and GM out. Fiat is just the next major corp from over sea to strip away all that they can from Chrysler. They closed dealerships to "help" sell more cars, BUT now the closed dealers are turning into Fiat dealerships that will be competing against Chrysler dealerships. Wow, that will help sell more Chryslers, Dodges, Jeeps, & Rams!

I think it's just a matter of time before we see a new one in your signature.

Probably not. Can't afford it and really don't have the bug for one.

I "invested" in a new Goldwing back in January. I'm further "investing" in shares of the oil industry, five gallons of gas at a time, to run through the Wing.

I'm keeping my '05 only because I can, drove the 2005 today cause I put the camper on the 2011 last night for camping this weekend:) Both of mine are the same, 4 door, dually, black 4*4, Laramie's etc... I'd say the 2011 Laramie is a step up with the cooled seats, better seat cushions, heated steering wheel, better center consol, Sat Radio etc... But for the basic truck, driving, stopping, hauling etc... not much differnce. You trade better mileage simpler 5. 9 for DFP, more power more transmission gears and a more complicated truck. The 2011 is really really nice but it was not needed but I wanted it!
