FWIW! Pay Attention at the Diesel Pumps!!!

TSB's

I've had my '01 4x4 2500 short bed for almost 10 years... 125K and I've got the bug for a new Dodge Cummins.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with my truck. And even though I swore I wouldn't slip down the mod slope... . slide I did. Gauges, injectors, super B, heated/power mirrors, FASS, Gorend Trans, Dana 80 disc rear end, Buckstop bumpers, BHAF, custon installed Kenwood system with back up camera, Garmin nav, ipod hook up, USB hook up, 4" exhaust, Mag-Hytech deep trans pan and rear diff cover, Mr Bobs silicone hoses, 200 amp alternator... . there's more I'm sure but you get the idea.

It's an awesome truck but the new crew cab and some other features of the new trucks have me thinking seriously about a new one. I'm going to retire next year and I want to buy my "retirement rig".

I know I'll never get back what I have in it but I've enjoyed doing it and benefited from my mods so that gave me some value. That's my mindset anyway.

I'd like to sell my truck to someone who knows what great trucks these are and would appreciate and enjoy my truck as much as I have.

So I've posted this to ask you guys where I should try to sell. Craigslist is awful and I've never had luck there. Trade in I'd get raped. No one seems to put stuff for sale on this site. And how much should I sell it for? This is gonna be a little tough so I'm looking for a little help.

Thanks

Mike

You need to advertise the truck in a more "diesel truck friendly" state. Without seeing it personally, I can say that ANY running 5. 9L Cummins around here will fetch premium prices.

I'd try Autotrader.com or eBay.

As far as pricing that's a tough one. Have you looked at KBB, Edmunds or NADA? I generally look at all 3 to compare. Even then it'd be tough because of the modifications.

I'd try posting on a few other forums as well. I know that one in particular has a lot of postings with people looking for a truck like yours with the mods.

A lot of sales happen through here - that's why we have a specific classifieds section. We will be making a change very soon putting the classifieds right on the forums but I assure you the classifieds get a LOT of traffic. Click on site features up top and pull it down to classified ads.

I didn't know that was there!

Wow Steve I didn't know that was even on here! Yeah, that needs to be more visible. I'll need to post my truck on there and see what happens.

Thanks for the heads up!

TDR ads!

I sold my '98. 5 four years ago through the TDR ads to a local guy here in Ca.

Be sure to have a smog certificate if it's to a Ca buyer. It must be no more than 90 days old.

You'll love a newer truck!

I just returned from a 2000K trip to northern AZ and southern Utah. Way less driver fatigue with the newer ones. Fuel cost was a bummer, but diesel was $0. 30/gallon cheaper in Utah.
