I got back from a one week holiday. Jumped into the truck, turned the key and got nothing but the grid heater and lights. Starter would not turn over or click. Did some reading here to check all the options before hauling it away on the flat deck. Just so happened there was another thread on a truck not starting.
I checked all the cable connections for good contact. There was one post had some minor corrosion. Tapped the solenoid. Nothing found yet that was a problem. I took the batteries out to get them load tested. They tested strong and still had lots of reserve. I put the batteries back in and cleaned the already clean connections. Tried the key and away it went!
The truck ran fine for the next few days until I dropped the truck off for an oil change at the dealer. When it came time to leave, the starter refused to turn over again. The shop foreman checked the truck out right away and made the call on the TIPM. He ordered it in and when they installed it, away it went. Wallet almost a G lighter
and the truck is firing on all six.
Lesson learned... take your truck with you on a holiday and keep it happy. Oo.
