4500/5500 recall

I just dropped my truck off at Stew Hansen Dodge to get the K28 recall done. This is for the left tie rod. The service writer said it should be ready by tomorrow afternoon. I was also having them fix the heater. When switched to heat, I get just a taste of warm air out the bottom. The rest of it comes out the dash vents and defroster. The service writer said it should be ready by tomorrow afternoon. I'll let you guys know about how it does when I get it back.

According to the parts guy at Stew Hansen Dodge, Dodge will only allow them to order 2 of these kits per 7 day period. There were 4 names on the list before me and who knows how many after me still waiting.

Okay, got a call around 10:00 a. m. to tell me the truck was ready. I was amazed at how quickly they did the job. I do believe they got started on it when I dropped if off after lunch yesterday.

I was trying to see all the way home if I noticed any change. I'm thinking there was less vibration up front, but am not sure. Uneventful trip home, and good to have the Beast back in front of the fifth wheel.

The only downer was the $69 I had to pay for them to tell me that the heater was doing exactly what it is supposed to do. He said they did some sort of scan test on the hvac and everything checked out. Of course, it is now officially hot in Iowa so I won't be needing the heater for 9 months or so.
