would like to know when to change trannie fluid and filter . ihave 25,000 towine miles on it

The reccomended is every 30k but if your towing all the time 20-25k is good preventative maintenance.

Sheesh, guess I might want to run right out and adjust mine then since I have never adjusted them in 160,000 miles.

If there isn't a problem directly related to the bands, don't touch them.

Not magical. I'll take the word of seasoned 727/48RE builders that know the inside and out of the transmission more than Chrysler engineers, not companies like ATS Purplebomb or SunToast either.

i don't know squat about transmissions, but i did change my fluid and filter the other day, when doing so i looked in the factory manual about adjusting the bands and i have to say that is a pisspoor system. tighten to this torque then back off this many and a half rotations etc. I didn't feel that i would accurately be able to determine the diff between 1 1/2 and 1 3/4 rotations based on where the adjustment was being made. So i left it alone. I have 141k and my bands have never been adjusted.

i think it's easy and important to check the bands but if you're intimidated by it and don't think its important it wont hurt my feelings.
