Sorry if this is not in the right place. It makes sense for others to know about this so they might avoid the same hassle.

The only reason I ordered from this questionable outfit is because they had a rear main seal I was looking for. Otherwise I would have ordered from Geno's.

I ordered three items totaling $60 from puredieselpower.com. They send the order out in three packages, on different days, two of the packages require a signature, the third was left at my door. No where during the sale did they indicate that a signature would be required. If the item were $200 or more this would be understandable.

So I took 40 minutes off work to drive to UPS to pick up package #1 since I could not be home to sign for it. Today I find another one of those stickers on the front door from UPS saying that they have another signature required package from puredieselpower.com. So tomorrow I will take another 40 minutes off work to drive to UPS again to pick up package #2. Never again.

That is not PureDieselPowers fault.

Chalk this one up as a "lesson learned".

Whenever I order anything online, I write a note for UPS or Fedex and request them to leave the package on the porch and then I sign the note. I tape this to the front door as soon as I order something.

Otherwise, I use work as the shipping address.

Never have had a problem after learning the hard way to go pick up a package at UPS or Fedex because they required a signature.

As Louis says, part of the learning curve.

I always ship my stuff to work, shipper/recievers here watch for any inbound employee freight and always get it to the right guy.

We are all here at work way longer than at home each day so I as management support anything that can done to make an employee's life easier including personal freight shipments.

Besides, up here in Maine UPS and FedEx both will do unattended home deliveries, get home during a snowstorm and find a package while shoveling off the deck, not good... ... happened to me a few times until I started having everything shipped to work instead.

Mike.

I ship everything to my office for this reason and also so my wife will not know what I spent on truck parts, Model Train stuff, and ATV/UTV stuff:)

That works really well unless she gets to the credit card statement before I do... ... :D

Ditto on the work address comments. Also, in regards to the three seperate shipments... from what I understand a lot of internet based businesses do not own or stock the inventory that they sell, they simply have arrangments with vendors/manufacturers as authorized sellers and the items are drop shipped from the vendor or seperate warehouse. Not sure if that is the case with your situation, but is a possibility.

That is an excellent point, I should have brought that up.

I know that some of the parts that I ordered from RockAuto on-line shipped right out of Portland, Maine for example.

Had them in my hand the next day, must have an agreement with someone down there. it also keeps the freight charges low.
