Well I returned from a 700 mile trip to western Montana and back, first trip with the truck. A few observations, it did not want to pass any tanker that smelled of diesel. Is this normal?Might have some thing to do with the 12. 6 MPG that the truck got. The truck was carrying a 10. 5 foot Bigfoot camper. Power was ridiculous, never slower of shifted on any hill. How do you tell if it does a regeneration cycle? Does it show on the overhead display? If it shows on the overhead then it did not do a cycle for the whole trip. All in all a comfortable truck with gobs of power, just wish it did not like tanker trucks so much.

You don't say what year. The only indication I have of a regen is if I'm watching the EVIC, I'll see the bar graph average line staying below my overall average marker. Sometimes I can smell it if I'm stopped. Other than that, there is no indication.

It is a 2007. 5. Funny that the overhead display tells you a lot of things but not the regeneration cycle. Maybe Chrysler would rather that you not be able to readily tell when it does the cycle.

The more power you have the more fuel you will use. That is why I like my 03 and it gets the job done it has good power it will smoke the ford chv in the mountins they will get me in flat country but that is all if they are stock like me.

If you are running the truck moderate to hard, I doubt that it would have to regenerate.

No, I wish that were true but it is not.

All ISB6. 7s are performing a regen at regular intervals. The regen mode is invisible and undetectable to most owners unless they have installed aftermarket gauges. With experience regen can be detected by an exhaust burble sound and different off-idle feel when the accelerator is pressed from stop but unless the owner has gauges he won't be able to confirm what is occurring.
