Well, as many of you know I was looking for rims as my factory ones have too much run out. :( As much as I liked those, It was time.

After much debate as to what I should go with ( https://www.turbodieselregister.com...m-1989-1993/230177-need-rim-width-advice.html, https://www.turbodieselregister.com...8-anyone-have-pics-1st-gen-alcoa-16-rims.html, https://www.turbodieselregister.com...-forum-1989-1993/230071-rim-out-ballance.html) I found a set of used Eagle 17x8's. Was not thinking they would work but they REALLY worked in the end!! Oo.

Before and after.

Before: 16x7 wheel and 235/85/16

I hate to even say this, but I've been thinking on the aluminum ford rims.

I think they fit.

The 19. 5's would be the ultimate for me though. I could use the extra RPM's on the big road.

Those look cool Bob! Good job!

Sooooo, you still needing that trim then??? Im cornfused. I see the new wheels in the sans-trim pic and figuring that it went bye-bye after these shots of the new wheels?? Or not?

All of the pictures with the new wheels are of the driver's side.
The missing trim was on the passenger side.

Nice lookin rig!

Thanks! :)

NICE RIG, BSchwarzli! Wish I had your talent and skills!

Truth be told I just rely on all you guys and put the knowledge to use!

I thought of that. Just did not have the funds for it, and also thought they would look to big on this truck. Now the crew cab.....

Yes, still needing trim. See below!

You won the prize! I have refrained from passenger side shots as it bugs me! :-laf

Yeah, still missing and no luck with a clean one thus far. :(

WOW, those DO look nice! I wouldn't have thought it, but they do. Those look like they have a lot of offset!! What part # did you end up with? Is that the 0589-8888? They only list at +2mm offset, but they look like +10! Very nice... .

Oh, FYI, the open cap part number from American Eagle(for your locking hubs) is 3061-06. Not that they don't look nice painted black, IMO. The '03 and '97 both have painted hubs with nice, chromed locking hub outers shining in the sun... ... . :D

I will be honest, I have no clue what the offset or part number is! :-laf

I got them used, and bolted them on. I can see if there is anything on the backside, but other than that I don't know. I can tell you they were on a 05 Ram until I got them.

Thanks so much for the PN. I was going to have to call them as I did not see a listing for it on the website and I need to cover up the black hubs. Dont like the look.

Well, since I was headed to eBay, anyway... . there are some on there a little cheaper than the Eagles... . and some of them are tapered at the end to take up some of the space around the hubs. I've found the Eagle's tend to collect mud and dirt a little, and have a larger gap around the hubs, since they're pretty much straight with a rolled edge. Some of the cheap chinese made ones taper in at the end and fit a lot closer. Sometimes the chrome is cheap, though. Just a suggestion from my experience on the older Dodges..... although I bet you won't be boggin through a 3' mud hole on a ranch road any time soon, either!! Also, I've had three pairs on backorder for several months with the Grand Prairie warehouse, and I haven't gotten 'em yet, which means either they are made once a year in production runs or they're discontinued... ... .
