Computer reset after an oil change

Do you have to reset the on board computer after an oil change. And if so how do you do it?

I don't know if it works unless you have the message on evic. But the process is you the the key to on (do not start) and push the pedal (gas/fuel) slowly three times then turn the ignition off. But this never seems to work for me. I usually push the pedal 4 times and I have to repeat this process like five times to get rid of the evic message. I just changed my oil two days ago and I attempted to reset the computer even though I didn't have a message.

You need to do the above within 10 sec and turn ignition off. On my 3rd gen. 6. 7 I always changed the oil before the message and reset. I never get the message after reset.

Absolutely correct. Do it three times within ten seconds or it won't reset.
