 anyone have this problem with their 2000 RAM 5. 9L Cummings? First we have done the new pump deal..... up graded to the new lift pump set up... cleaned the batter post. s..... and done a pressure test on the fuel pump at an idle and all are OK. . The trucks has 130. 000.

******PROBLEM ONLY DONE IT ABOUT SEVEN TIMES WITH IN THE LAST EIGHT MONTH. CAN BE GOING DOWN THE ROAD ( MOST OF THE TIMES I CAN REMEMBER WAS WHEN I HAD THE ac ON HIGH AND AT A SPEED BELOW 25mph. ) AND AT THE SAME TIME HAVE MADE A NUMBER OF TRIPS THAT WERE ABOUT 500 MILES ROUND TRIP AND RAN ABOUT 70>>80 mph AND NEVER ANY PROBLEM... ... ... ... ... ... BUT WHEN THE PROBLEM DOES WANT TO PLAY YOU CAN BE JUST GOING SLOW LOOKING AT THE ( BIRDS) lOl AND THE ENG DROPS TO AN IDEL LIKE YOU LOST ALL POWER AND THE CHECK ENGIN LIGHT COMES OM LET YOUR FOOD OFF THE PEDEL AND ALL IS GO AS GOOD AS BEFORE... . STARTS EVERYTIME NO SMOKE PROBLEM ... NO POWER LOSS PROBLEM... . SO IS THERE SOMETHING I MIGHT CHECK OR LOOK FOR? BAD PART IT ONLY HAS DONE IT A HAND FULL OF TIMES. ( OH AND IT DID IT WITH THE EDGE COMP BOX INSTALLED SO I DISCONNECTED THE BOX AND IT HAS DONE IT THREE TIMES SINCE.

Thank you for any help or advice on my 2000 Dodge Ram 3/4 ton 5 sp

Thank you COSMO. We had the code pulled and all we got was the same one that shows up on many a trucks... Code. 1693... Did the three times key deal and it said . . DONE.

Thank you for the return.

Did you pull the code with an OBD scanner or just cycling the key to get the display?

That code just means there's a code stored in memory in the engine control module. You have to get a scan tool to check the ecm for diagnostic codes.
