I agree. Part of why I was hoping to do a pre-74 was to avoid emissions altogether. However, NM doesnt do diesel emissions (yet), and even if they do Im sure an 84 will be exempt.

So a friend of mine heard what I was doing, and called me up and said "hey my aunt has an 80's 4wd 4 door dodge if you need it for parts... runs and drives, she wants it gone... "

haha. He is gonna send me pics, so it looks like I might end up with 2 crew's.

Quick question for the crew cab experts. Is the rear profile, where the door latch is, the same for the front and rear doors? I've always wanted to combine a crew cab with a club cab to make a first gen mega cab.

Any one need a rolling chassis

I am in North San Diego and have a good rolling chassis 85 crew with good cab that has the rear doors, I was going to use it but I have gone other directions

It is a 2 wheel drive, no front clip , no front doors the cab was striped out .

I have extra front doors as well as extra rear doors

Let me know as I am going to pull the rear end shortly and cut up the body for extra floorboars and parts for my other trucks.

The "this would be nice... " thoughts have already started.

My 93 is an auto... and my "hmmm, Id rather have a 4500" thinking has already started. So has the "I have a spare 913 pump laying around. . "

:)

My experience is if you think you want a manual, Do it now... . I have an auto, and really wish I had a 5 spd in it. I won't get around to swapping for a bunch of reasons, but I would love even a Getrag in my truck over the 46RH... .

Look at all the cews parts that are hiding in garage and back yards. Now if I just had 40 acres and some spare cash... Shadrach

That is what I was thinking, If I was a little closer to any of them I would love to pick up a spare set of rear doors for my truck..... That is the only real part I worry about being hard to find on the crewcab.

Ive had my eye open, looking around. Just starting this thread has led me to quite a few possibilities for the parts that might be hard to find.

Looks like I will potentially wind up with 2 local crew cabs, the other one is still in limbo. I hope thats enough to get a good jump on it.

you should get a good sart with two trucks

I would have died and gone to heaven if I had a complete crew when I did mine... .

This is what I started with, plus a set of doors.

Stretch clubcab frame and add the longest overlays I could fit.

I had to add the pictures to give you a little something to look forward to... . Hope it works. :D

How hard is it to use those new style mirrors ?

They use the same 3 wire control as the 93 does. Mounting is the hard part, I have something that works but is find of ugly, on my to do list is to clean it up. Not sure I would do them again right now, but it is nice to have flip out power towing mirrors.....

I didnt even see your response to this thread Dale.

However... I canceled this project. I kinda realized that having 2 4 door trucks was pointless. So I sold all my 4 door conversion stuff and 2 of my Jeeps, and purchased 2 79 ramcharger's. I will start a conversion thread on it and throw the link here.

Haha yes, yes he would. :)

Then when he would see my rc done he would get it haha.

Oh for sure!:-laf

Actually, I have toyed with CCing the daily. Would give me a second truck with more room. Only issues is knowing me that would take 5 years and a new motor and transmission for whatever reason (I will find one, you can be sure of that!)! :D
