I did my heater treater doors a few weeks ago, and took care not to damage or move the brake switch, however, now when I set the cruise and tap the brakes to disengage it's like I havent touched them. I have to either hit the cancel button or do a quick "stomp" on the brake pedal. I found a post that said to push down on the pedal and pull out on the plunger to reset/reprogram the switch but that hasnt worked. When pushed all the way down, the brake pedal "ear" that engages the end of the plunger doesnt touch it.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Craig

there is a brake signal wire that runs under the dash. On mine it was brown/purple trace. When I pushed the steering column back up, it shorted that wire. I also had no center mount high brake light.

Buy a new switch, they are a one time adjust only. Sometimes you can save them but it is iffy

Have someone watch your brake lights while you hit the pedal like you normally would to turn off the cruise. No brake lights, no cruise disengage.

Get yourself a new brake light switch replaced mine they are only about 20. 00 and a 5 min replacement.
