The TT has been parked and winterized. For us the camping is done for another year. Kinda short season up here. For most it usually starts the long weekend in May ( around the 24th ) and ends maybe early Oct if that long. Some do go longer ( like hunters) and some go South but for most of us it's over. You'd never know we had such a short season by the amount of RV's in Alberta. It seems like every second family has one and the storage lots are full in the off season. We are fortunate enough to be able to park ours in our back yard and not have to pay for storage all year long. My brother for example has to pay storage for his TT and his van that he pulls it with ( poor fellow doesn't have a Cummins ). Currently we are at about 4*C ( 40*F ) over night and near 15*C ( 60*F ) in the day time, and that's in the city. But with lots of sunshine it is my favorite time of the year. Now if I could just get more holidays and buy that 4 season Arctic Fox :) Shadrach

Head south young man head south. Its getting cold at nite here also. during the days not to bad except the DAMN RAIN then the wind blows and makes it miserable. Soon it will be white and real cold. I have my wood pile full so let it snow.

Just got back from a week of camping, in a TENT! Beautiful weather here about 75 for a high and low 50's at night. Just right for a campfire and some Dutch oven cookin.

Been a long time since the wife and I had a vacation and we went as simple and light as we could. Just filled the bed of the truck and we were off. It was a great trip even with 600 miles of it at 55 mph. We lost fifth gear about three hours into the trip. Actually made the trip better, took more back roads and saw more sights and there was NO arguing when I ordered my new trans ;)

Altitude of course makes a big difference. Edmonton is flat except for the river valley and we are at about 23-2400 feet above sea level. This year has been wet and as long as it stays above freezing the rain is OK. The leaves on the trees ( Assinboine poplars ) in the back yard are still green so I would like it to be dry when I have to rake them up. Sunset is officially at 6:45 so we can still do some yard work after work. Shadrach

here in indiana, state park camping runs from last weekend in april to the last weekend in october. there are still a few weeks of season left. cold weather gives us a reason to have a big fire unlike in july when we go to Holiday World and and sweat our a**es off just going outside:{. the wind has been horible the past couple weeks though. it was blowing so hard we were sitting on the fire and couldnt even feel the heat.

Didn't get as many trips this year as I hoped, but I have a backyard campground setup. Trees, campfire pit, 120v, H2O, privacy and no noisy neighbors. I have actually just drove the truck into the backyard on a Firday not even going into the house, campfire time and cooking. It ain't too late here in SC.

Shadrach, I know what you mean we have put our 5er to bed in late September. My DW and I did a trip out west this year and spent over three weeks on the road. Did 8 states, 10 campgrounds, 24 nights and 4,050 miles after that the DW said she want to stay home. She missed the grandkids and their birthdays are in OCT. so she asked to stay home this month.

Well the camper is winterized and in the storage lot until late April or May of 2012.

What has been really tough has been the weather in Northern Illinois. We have had almost 10 perfect fall days with the day time temps in the mid 70's and nighttime in the 50's. Great camping weather.

We have 1 more trip planned. Then the Lance gets put away in the barn until next April. :(

Temps are 50's for highs 40's lows so a good campfire is perfect.

Do not want to hear that. We are leaving Gardnerville, NV heading for Greenwood, In on the 27th of this month & hope we do not run into bad weather. We are taking I 40 as I feel the weather should be a little warmer. Will winterize when we get to Greenwood.

Wow, so thankful to live in Western Oregon. We're camping again in a week, then in November too, we'll go all winter long once a month. We keep the camper plugged in a home and the water all drained out November-March but we'll unwinterize and go. For us 25 degree's is a very cold night around here. Maybe 35-45 nights below 32 each winter and most of them will just be 30 degrees or so.

I've lived in southeast, north central, and northeast TX all my life and in the 40+ years of owning RVs, I have never winterized one yet. We go when we want any time of the year. :D

Rub it in...

Mine is awaiting winterizing as we speak, will do it this weekend.

Won't be able to use it again until May..... :{

It will sit down by the lake covered in snow and ice 'till then.

Had to pull two feet of snow from it's roof last January, just like having another house to watch over.

Welcome to Northern Maine... Someday soon we hope to winter elsewhere where it stays WARM. :D

Mike. :)

Ye'r a better man than I Bill Stockard. When it get's cold up here this winter at -30 ill be the one inside with the fire on. Just knock on the door and we'll let you in but it's going to cost ya :-laf

My buddy and I will be using the TT this weekend for the opening of the waterfowl season. It's supposed to be near 80° this weekend! Nothing like stewing in your waders. Then it will get packed up until December when I have a cow elk tag. If it's just cold, the TT will come with me. If there is snow in the forecast, it stays home. Too many miles of towing in really nasty snowy weather to make me want to do it again. I'm guessing we'll have about 30 nights in the trailer this year, with some additional days when it is used as a spare bedroom. We usually get about 50 nights a year in it, which is pretty good considering we still have two kids at home with all their activities.

I actually like winter camping the best. All of the lightweights stay home, so its not crowded out there. When it rains, well, thats what the TT is for. If its cold, I own a coat. It it rains, once again I own a coat (and a poncho and/or rain coat if I want to "wussy" out. If it snows, well thats just gravy.
