Any CARB issues bringing in diesels into CA?

I have the factory aluminum alloy wheels and had about 1/8 to a 1/16 inch of clearance on mine. The back ones slid right over with no problem and front ones I had to use a small pipe over the studs to work the balancer on by light tapping because they were tight that way, but clearance was excellent.

As mentioned earler, Casting of the caliper

I must have gotten lucky, I don't know. I just know I did not have any trouble getting them on.

What is the outside diameter of these balancers? I was wondering if I would see them through my Kore Weld wheels, or the stock ones for that matter.

Thanks,

Marty

I had them on my 2004. 5 & they took out a small shake. 3 weeks ago a drunk driver hit me @ 70 head on & totaled my truck, ruining 1 front balancer. The co. sent a new 1 no charge & I could not find the old reciept. Hope they fit my new 09. :)

I'm still trying to get mine to fit but yes, you'll see them and they're ugly IMO. I'm thinking about painting them flat black. .

Well I finally got the spacers and installed them. I had to grind a but-load of material off the caliper bracket and I can only get a . 016" feeler gauge between the balancer and the bracket but at least it clears now. As some one said before, they get rid of the "micro chops" and I'm finally rid of a vibration I had that nobody could find.
My advice to anybody who does this is to make sure they send your the spacers (free) because you'll need them and if your concerned about the look of your wheels, spray paint them flat black before install because they're very visible.

Not dissing Centramatic at all, I know they make a fine product!!

The BalanceMasters I am using (mercury filled) were roughly twice as much, but they

DID slide right on the lugs, no fitment issues whatsoever.

I didn't know about the Balance Masters but knowing what I know now, I proably would have bought them instead of the one-size-fits-all CM's. I 'm still wondering how things will hold up since the CM's are jammed against the back side of my aluminum wheels. .
Can you see the BM's through the wheel and are they at least painted?

You can see about 4" of their outer diameter beteween the "spokes" on my 3rd gen alloy wheels, but they are powdercoated flat black, so they are VERY subtle in thier place.

Quiet too -- no weighted balls, only liquid mercury !!!

With my Toyo's needing 3 ozs. max to balance on a Hunter balancer,I don't know how much could be gained by going with the aftermarket balance systems. I have zero vibes at all speeds.

ALL my Toyos and Michelins also balanced with very little weight... less then 4 oz total per set!!

I decided to put the wheel balancers onafter one day driving around a pretty sharp curve on Hwy128 and all of a sudden a wheel wieght lands on my front hood (at 40mph) and STAYED there, until I could pullover. AT first, I figured that it was one that someone else had lost on the road, and I had driven over it and flipped it up onto my truck, but after a close inspection, I determined that it was from my right front wheel (where I saw a clean spot on the rime just the size of the weight. )

I still don't know how it flipped over the fender and onto the hood, (must have someting to do with speed and turn radius), BUT I never would have known I had lost it if it had not landed on the hood. Now that I have a Dill TPMS, I only rarely check my wheels/tires for wear, and I likely would NOT have noticed the slightly cleaner spot on the rim in time to notice that the weight was gone.

LONG story short, decided to buy the BalanceMasters as a "just in case" as well as a "could only help" scenario.
