:eek: Surely you Jest?!?!? It is the brainchild of Joe Donnelly, a good time event where you can run on the dyno, meet with guys from Cummins and many, many other vendors, drag race, and several dinners and technical seminars. I went out to Vegas once and got to swing by for a little while, and supposedely, it's wayyyy larger than it was back then(10-11 years ago?)... ... I didn't run my truck, but it was a good time. I had to leave early. There was way more to see than I could take in in one day..... It's now moved to Pahrump, NV, look on page 116 of the current TDR. May Madness 2011 (April 25 - May 1) -

I have not problems making any power out of my diesels. I was referring as to how easy you THINK you can wipe up the competition..... Come get some!!

I never jest. And don't call me Shirley!

Careful SRay, this ones onery. You might need to line up a replacement fuel tank he's got pretty good range!

Either one apparently. One can make fuel tanks go nuclear and the other seems to have a tendancy to lure unsuspecting people around/near his faulty walls.

Watch em folks he's a furly dangerous man.

On second thought you don't have to worry about Mr B. hes running one of those first gens, he'll never catch you! Was nice of you to sandbag out of the hole for that picture though. ;)

Yep. Sorry, I ASSumed too much!! At least she has some class(riding English) AND a job!! :-laf ... . and yep, she's dreaming to make money on horses!! I've been raising, breaking, and selling my own ranch horses for over 15 years, and I've never made any profit!! I've sold some for well over $15k, but still never managed to make any money... ... :{ And the best ones I never sold!! Most either got crippled or killed by some freak accident! I've just about lost the heart to start a good one anymore..... and I've got some getting older, so I really need to start 2-3 good ones..... I've got two right now that are green broke 6yr olds. Kinda sad. One can be REALLY good, the other is just a work horse. Kinda dumb, but stout and gentle. I just can't make myself get on 'em and finish 'em.

The shooting range is an obsession. Dad and I both have it, so it works out good for both of us. I've got an old Ford van with a utility box behind the combine shed that we use for a shooting rest, which is nice when it's drizzling or really cold. We shoot out the back door. I was gonna part it out, but it got confiscated... . :-laf I use the 400yd out the back door for load developement and accuracy testing. Sometimes, it's hard to tell which load is better at 100yds, so we go to 400 to really test it. When one load shoots 1. 5" groups, and the other shoots 2", then you know which to go with. Also, it helps calculate "actual" ballistics, instead of fully calculated, which is often off due to some manufacturers being liberal in their measurements, and poor quality control... ... . of course, there's always problems... . like when the horses want to play with the target.....

(oh, and let me add, I went through hell for 9 years to get these places paid for. Careful what you wish for!!! ;) )

yeah shes really a good one, but shes definately not what i would call cheap. i understand the horse thing too. had a customer tell me once that the only way to make a small fortune with horses is to start with a large one. great animals and some day i would love to have a good trail pony/work horse, but im never going to try and make a living with them.

HHhuntitall: I'm sure you're ready for the real breaking in time, once your 6 year olds grow into teenagers. Pants half-way down, hats cocked over, attitude to boot. Then comes the boyfriends/girlfriends. :-laf:-laf

I have several friends that are parents to teenagers that are also friends of mine as well. Then to watch them both go at it over something! The younger friends do have some good in them, they're buying Dodge diesels now and some are planning for those trucks once they get their licenses after spending time with me and my old faithful goat.

What's 1000 yards when your gun just shot over 2000+miles and ruptured Bschwarzli's tank?:-laf:-laf

The May Madness event is starting to get my interest going. No interest in Las Vegas casinos though.

Mhannink: Where are you from if you like cold and snow?

i was born in raised in kommifornia, in the heart of ag land. we actually dont get all that cold around here, it can get down into the 20's once or twice every few years. we also get snow once every 20 years or so. before you say anything, yes i have spent time in cold areas, i lived in reno nv for a little over and year, and i also spent time in wyoming. to me there is never a better day than when its snowing. one of my favorite mornings, one i will never forget, is standing out in the yard at work, 3 peterbuilts idling, warming up, snow falling, ice on everything, steam rolling out of the stacks, and a hot cup of coffee in my hands. it was a good day, then the boss showed up.

before anyone comments, yes i am crazy, i know, need proof, just read the above post about a woman.

HHH thanks for the MM link. 1530 miles one way and the start of hay season I'm not gonna make that one.

I hear ya. I'll have some grass ready in May, depending on rain, but my sudan won't be ready until June, depending on the rain, and then I'll be running the hay cutter in the morning, and the combine after lunch... ... well, when a normal person would be eating lunch... . Then it's baling and hauling. Round bales are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than the 6-9,000 small square bales we used to put up every year. #@$%! (Then we got to pull them out, a few hundred at a time, to feed cows!!! It sucketh!! Always was in good shape for football, though!!!) These days, I only need around 150 small squares to feed horses when we're working. I turn 'em out at night or they stay out, so they only get hay when we're working. I don't turn 'em out so I don't have to jingle 'em up in the morning in the dark.

Yep, definitely not that bright..... or just haven't had enough experience, yet!!! ;) Over time, you'll learn to ask yourself what you're doing, BEFORE you get in so far!!! :-laf

Nyoest: Who should I be careful with? The hairy beast or Mr. B?

That's MR. Sasquatch to you!!

Yes, but the mother of all first gens will be on the road this coming summer..... he has no hope. :D

I say aim at his gas tank..... maybe his D-80 too. I know how much he enjoys swapping rear ends. :D:-laf

Hmm, no, I think I'll just eat some rotten beef jerky, crawl in the passenger door and leave him a little surprise! :-laf Nothin' worse than a Sasquatch with an upset stomach... . unless there's two..... :choke:

Of course, there's always the option of catching a big ol' coon, feeding him a whole extra-large can of prunes, and then throwing him into the truck overnight... ... with a frozen bag of rasberries..... :D It's pretty rough on Police Interceptors. (you'd think an officer would lock their car while parked in their driveway?!?!?! Especially one that's a jerk..... ?)

my dad owns a feed store, we sell small bales for horse people and those with a small heard of cows, hobby farmers basically. i remember in high school i was a bit of a runt, 5'3'' 130lbs, but no body messed with me. we would get into the weight room and start lifting and i would out do everyone by several lbs. a few times i can remember cleaning up after a "game day" the football jocks would take 2 guys to lift the bales onto the deck of the car trailer, meanwhile i am bucking it up to the 4th layer by myself. those small bales really do keep you in good shape.

i think its both, not to bright and not enough experience. im old enough now to know better, but young enough to not do anything about it. hopefully i learn that little trick as asking myself before i get in too far. it would be far less expensive that way.

hey aren't ya'll using them new fangled gps tractors out there? ya'll should be able to set em up and leave em alone. they will cut the hay while your driving to may madness. :-laf

Well, I do have Greeenstar GPS on the new 8130..... but who will shoot the coyotes when they have no where to run?!? (... or get their lifeless, mangled, bodies out of the rollers..... :puke:)

Actually, none of my hay tractors have GPS. Kinda pointless, I think... ... Nice for chemical application, but I don't have much row crop over here where I do my hay. All the hay ground I had in Stamford/Rule I lost when it sold..... I got it back that afternoon with a lease agreement, but now I have to pay more for it, so I'm gonna go with cotton and wheat... ... hence GPS autosteer for the row crop crap. Nice place to read a magazine, though. Where'd I put that new issue of the TDR?!?! :D

Yeahhhh, that was my theme song for awhile... . "... . old enough to know better, but still too young to care... ... " Now I'm just to old to care... :D

I used to buck bales two at a time. I'm pretty overgrown, so I'd grab on with each hand and chunk 'em up to the hands. In 2001, I had some high-school boys hired, and they were stacking one night... ... One threw a cup of cold water on me... ... I pitched him a single bale... hard enough they both went off the other side of the trailer. :D In high school, I ran a lot, so I barely ever got over 220, but after I started doing just sprints and quit running distance, I was close to 240lbs when I started college, started my Sophomore year as starting Defensive tackle at 280lbs, and started my Junior year at 305... ... I could powerclean 450lbs, ran a 4. 70 40yd, had a 19" neck, and squat around 980lbs. Yeah, not many people jacked with me... ... even the cops thought twice and called for backup... :D (I'm paying for it now... . ruptured bersa sacks in both shoulders, destroyed my right ankle, and gave myself multiple concussions playing league and semi-pro..... I sound like an old wood floor in trailer house when I get out of bed in the mornings) Man, I do like to have fun, though. I still run a lot, but mostly when hunting. After I get up and get some steam built, that is..... :p

Between my father and I we have nine tractors. Only three of those have more than two cylinders, the "newest" one being my 1971 4320. I still use the 1935 B hand start weekly.

If our equipment was any older it would burn wood! ;). And I like it that way. Most of the equipment I grew up wrenching on is still in use today. Lotta summer break hours spent with that old rusty iron and now, there's a little rust showing on me.

Bucking square bales that brings back some memories. Not any good ones, just memories. :D

MR. Sasquatch: I have been promoted by Bschwarzli to the position of sasquatch hunter. So I've got my 10gauge shot gun ready with hollow point copper jackets. Also have rifles, magnum . 45 revolver and few others. Also as sasquatch hunter under Bschwarzli, I'm also authorized to use his multi-phasic cannon (#@$%!damn thing better be calibrated properly this time or there will be a large hole in the fuel tanks on the w350 crew cab)

So MR. Sasquatch... . any last words? :D

We are the Borg.

You will be assimilated.

Lower your shields, and surrender your ship.

Your defensive capabilities are unable to withstand us.

We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own.

Resistance is futile.

You will comply.

Resistance is futile.

Your multi-phasic cannon technology shall be added to our own. Cerberusiam of Uni-matrix Zero-One, we shall fire on the MR. Sasquatch, Mr. B, and Nyoest.

Now, that sounds like my grandfather!! He had a Moline Z and an "New" farmall H. The old D finally gave up... . it needs a rebuild, but parts aren't available..... and I thought the 1175 was old!!! :-laf

Bring it on!! Your clumsy mechanical parts will be bound by hair!!! ASSimilate me!!! You can't handle it!! It's like nothing you've encountered before!!! :-laf:p

Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!

(breathe)

:-laf:-laf:-laf:-laf:-laf:-laf:-laf:-laf:-laf:-laf!!!!

That's hilarious!

Bring it Borg!

We'll let Mr. B start on ya. He can take out/disable/mothball mechanical devices he CARES about just think what he can do to a can opener that's threatening him!

Next up will be HHH. He will play cowboy and poacher with your silly radio shack ***. He'll split your head open at 1,000 yards with his pistol and then pull all your good parts for construction of the worlds largest manure spreader.

And for the very few that MIGHT make it past those two I'll be waiting. You'll rust just being near me. Young Borg spill battery acid at night with the mere mention of my name. I have a strange aura around me that affects every machine I touch. They never work right again! You'll constantly need high cost replacement parts and have to mortgage your home world to pay my labor bills. Muhahahaha.

Just look at what happened to this brake rotor that looked at me funny... ... .
