Finishing up the issue 73 TDR and noticed on page 34 3rd to last paragraph of the transmission advice has some advice but no exact info for the removal of the drain back valve that is recommended for plowing.
Im ready to dig into this and assume its built into the fitting at the heat exchanger but is it the front or rear one on my 06?
I know there were pics of this a few years ago but the search turned up nothing. :confused:
Any advice or pics would be great.
Thanks

After a little more research Im thinking this is a bad idea because at trade in time the dealer will jump in the truck and see it takes a few seconds to get in gear with drainback valve removed and just assume it needs a trans which will kill the trade in value.
There is no explaining a drainback valve to a dealer... ...
Not that i ever get much at trade in for anything from dealers. :{

That's a valid concern, but it usually takes a while to drain back. Hours or overnight. Sometimes mine (either truck) will drain back after 6-8 hours, sometimes over night. Or sometimes it'll go a day or more and go right into gear. It's kinda funny. But I never jump in a cold truck and crank it, put it in gear and tear off. So there may be some drain back all the time I just don't really realize it.

I think this is the thread on the drainback valve fix you are looking for. See post 9 by Yo Hoot:

Thanks guys for the info.
I'm now thinking that doing the ck ball removal is a good idea and will dig into it this weekend.
