2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Mystery wires spliced together...

Im working on straightening up my wiring harness on my 1994 dodge, and Im trying to figure out what the wires right next to the driver side battery tray are for? It looks to be 4 wires that connect to 2 different posts on the driver side fender. Id like to find out what the cables are and where they connect. Currently 2 of he wires are spliced together and run to the positive side off the battery, but cant imagine thats where they belong. Any ideas of what the wires are or where they get connected would help.

Those are the solenoids that power up the intake air heater grids

So where do they connect? Straight to the battery or to a fuse somewhere?

1 of the big wires goes to the Batt(through a fuseable link)the other big wire goes to the grid heater. The small wires are for control.

Pretty sure what you are calling is a splice is a fusible link... . , like bob already said

Actually looking back at the wires the only thing that is good is the connection to the battery. . The rest of the wires are cut up and has 2 or 3 wire crimps between it and the solenoids. What gauge are the are the cables? It looks like Ill just have to replace them. The picture I took really dont show how bad the wires are.

They didn't look pretty when new. I just looked at mine, and they look crimped under the shrink tubing. How about a little better picture of yours before you do something that may be unnecessary.

Just posted up a picture of the wires. In the end I think im going to have to replace them because under the 5 pounds of electrical tape they are cut up. Are those factory yellow wire connections? (1 set by my hand and another set toward the middle of the picture)

No, the yellow connectors are not stock. Maybe you can get some decent ones from a part out truck. If available at the dealer I'll bet they are made of gold.

The connector web site is ok,but not all connectors are available #@$%!

The relay harness was available at one time but I haven't tried getting one in years. Building from scratch would not take much work. Just be sure to use the correct gauge wire and appropriate fuse link along with quality terminals

All I have to say is that this web site is worth every penny. This is my first post here, and can't believe how helpful people have been. Does anyone know what gauge the wires are? I have a feeling the current wires maybe "aftermarket". Thanks to everyone who helped!

The power wires are 6 ga,the fuse links are 12 ga. Control wires are 18 and 20 ga
