After testing return flow, I have decided that I need a new set of injectors at only 248,000 miles.

Now for the mulit-thousand dollar question... who has the best value/price for complete stock 03-04 injectors? I've had a friend recommend Pensacola Diesel and another Industrial Injection. I've called around the west Georgia/ east Alabama area and I haven't found them for less than $400 each.

Are rebuilt injectors OK, or should I insist on new ones? I just don't have the coin available or I would spring for some from DDP.

Scheid Diesel can rebuild your injectors with Bosch parts and flow test them as well as balance them. I just had mine rebuilt with 50 hp nozzles and they are the smoothest injector of the 4 sets that have been in my '04. 5. Even with the new nozzles and all new valves they were much less than remans or new.

Godspeed,
Trent

What was the turn around time? I had considered sending them off to be tested/rebuilt but I didn't want to be down for 2 weeks... but I guess if the money is right then it's worth it.

What do you think about the 50 HP nozzles? I'm not sure if I want to get stock or higher HP nozzles. I'm currently running everything stock with a TST Powermax CR R49. How is the smoke with the nozzles?

I've read/heard nothing but great things about Scheid and Garmons for injectors. When it comes to transmission's Goerend and Garmons are second to none also.

I shopped around most injectors that you will find are re-builds and you get what you pay for. You might get lucky and have get a set that were done right you might not. Also there have been updates to the nozzle design over the years. Do you really want to use an older design that was known to crack? Give Dynomite a call at (360) 794 7974 they will not steer you wrong.

I delivered the injectors late one afternoon, they started on them the next morning and had them done the following morning.

The 100 hp nozzles were quite smoky with the smarty at 100%. Even at 70% they were still prone to smoke when first taking off from a stoplight and even more so when towing. The 50 hp nozzles have much less smoke with with the Smarty at 100%. I really like them so far but haven't done enough tanks of fuel to comment on mpg changes.

Godspeed,
Trent

I agree that this used to be the case because I got a set of Scheid rebuilds almost two years ago that were horrible and quickly replaced with Bosch remans. Apparently since that time the Bosch dealers can now get Bosch parts and that has made a huge difference in rebuild quality.

I'm going to take my injectors to Garmon's Diesel in Griffin, GA to be tested. Then I can make a more informed decision on what I want to do. I'm still not sure about the 50HP nozzles... it will mostly depend on the additional cost.

I Know you will be pleased with Jeff and his products. I have been using him since I bought my 1995 new. I have almost 500,000 miles on it now, and it is still running great.
