The Eight O'clock coffee brand sells a 100%Columbian-100%Arabica. How can it be both? They are two different types. They do sell a 100% Arabica too.

The so called Columbian/Arabica is the one in the brown bag. The 100%Arabica (plain/no flavor/original) is sold in the red bag.

I have both and they taste just about the same. The 100% Arabica (Original) is a tad sweeter. The Columbian/Arabica combo thing is just like the Bob Evans brand coffee.

Perhaps they are growing Arabica beans in Columbia; thus the name???????

Lord knows that I am nothing without a quart of coffee to get me though the day... ...

So I checked Wikipedia and it appears that Arabica coffee was native to Yemen but has been sent all over, even to Hawaii to be commercially grown.

So I am with you, it would Arabica grown in Columbia. .

Coffee berries, which contain the coffee seeds or "beans", are produced by several species of small evergreen bush of the genus Coffea. The two most commonly grown are the highly regarded Coffea arabica, and the "robusta" form of the hardier Coffea canephora. The latter is resistant to the devastating coffee leaf rust (Hemileia vastatrix). Once ripe, coffee berries are picked, processed, and dried. The seeds are then roasted to varying degrees, depending on the desired flavor. They are then ground and brewed to create coffee. Coffee can be prepared and presented in a variety of ways.

Neat, I learned something today... .

Interesting facts about the Pinion Tree. I have found that the Bob Evans and Eight O'clock original are working very well for me. I drink several cups in the morning. Sometimes a few in the evening (decaf) too.

I like some of the flavored varieties, but the plain stuff works real well for everyday use.

Greenleaf, If you buy your coffee in bags, preground? Try a bag of whole beans. Grind them fresh and make your coffee, straight away! You may find a far more flavorful cup of coffee. Dont let the coffee sit on the burner. Heat is the enemy of a good cup of coffee.

I will drink it cold, however that is not to the liking of many folks. After it is brewed, you can pour the remainder of the pot into an insulated thermos or caraf. It will stay warm and retain the flavor.

Coffee is the pit of a fruit. It has natural fruity flavors, if it hasn't been burnt or become stale by sitting around.

I buy ONLY whole bean. I grind as I use it. I use a coffee maker that stores the stuff in a container with out that hot plate. It has some sort of steel bottom that keeps it warm. Still, it tastes bad after six hrs. Not burned, just "old". I generally consume all ten cups within 4 1/2 hrs from brew time.

The traditional coffee makers will "cook" the coffee and after 4 hrs it is burned. I became tired of that after a few years of drinking the stuff.

Yep! I make a pot of 10 cups each day and used to drink it all. I have cut back some, now that Mom is here with us. She helps me drink it:-laf!

Once in a while my Wife will make her a smaller pot of flavored coffee. "Dark Chocolate Raspberry". That stuff is outstanding, once in a while:D! Couldnt drink it every day. Enjoy! GregH

I dont know, 'cept it tastes REAL GOOD:D! As I understand, Arabica is supposed to be the preferable coffee bean as it is less bitter? GregH

For those of you that are true coffee lovers like myself, you will not find a better cup of coffee in the world than this brand of Kopi Luwak. I was in Bangkok some years ago when I first tried this coffee…bar none, absolutely the best. The best way to brew is with a coffee press…and if you can, try to ignore where it comes from.

I've surpassed you guys and started roasting my own coffee beans. It's a whole other world when you roast your own. You'll never want to go back to the over-roasted, stale, overly acidic store crap. Been roasting for 5 years or so now, not hard to learn. Coffee is my addiction...

I get everything from these guys:

I stop at Dunkin Donuts every workday morning for my first cup.

I don't know where their coffee is grown, but I know it is NOT IN OHIO. :-laf

Other than that, I drink it black and I know a good cup when I taste it.
