Too bad it's so difficult to run these engines on the floor. I don't think you have a leak at the injectors, you would clearly hear that. What was the history of that engine before you got it?

OTOH, he had the injectors out and now has no compression on any cyl. - at least from what I heard.
Stroke ~ Did you replace the copper seals at the bottom of the inj?
Any chance they got doubled up somehow?

Here is what I believe is your smaller connector and the spliced wire that plugs into it.

Here is the other end that goes into the bottom of that small round termination point (I called it a relay thingy before, it isn't).

Here is where your ring lug ground wire goes. Mine has the exact same shaped terminal attached to it and it is the very bottom wire attached to this ground point (under the blue wire I added).

Basically it looks like you may not have either a ground or +12V going to your ECM so this will hopefully help!

Wow. Thanks a ton! I went and checked that spliced wire and sure enough, it fits that connector. Plugged it in, went and plugged the Smarty in, and BAM! I have four DTC's so it's talking now!

I could have SWORN that wire has been disconnected since... well I don't know when. I don't remember unplugging it, and remember seeing it and wondering why it wasn't plugged in. It even had road debris in it:confused:

I have no clue the history on it, other than the truck got t-boned and it "ran real good" when it was pulled...

Yes, new copper washers, not stacked. The injectors fit REAL tight, tighter than I remember the ones in my 07

Cool! we're half way there. . Oo.
The fact that it doesn't seem to have compression in any cyl makes me think it has to be something fairly simple. I mean if it was blown for some reason it wouldn't turn over so smoothly.
Are any of the codes interesting?

Nope. Let's see, the expected MAF since it's unplugged, fan circuit since it's unplugged, crank position sensor, and an unknown. I had the same crank code and a couple others when I rebuilt the 07; they were gone after I cleared them and never came back.

Hopefully I can poke around more tomorrow and see what I come up with.

Hope to get back on it this weekend. Either I screwed up installing 6 injectors or the internals are jacked; it basically has no compression. Hopefully the compression tester will be here this week.

I think if the compression checks out, I need to look at putting my 5. 9 head on the 6. 7 block. The injectors fit TIGHT and they are tightened down about as much as I dare go without breaking an injector bolt.

It's been on standstill while I got the new Goerend in my 07; figured I'd finish up the easiest and get one truck back on the road. It's lined out and possibly going to go get some triples installed and big nozzles, so I pretty much need to get the 03 back on the road so I have something to drive;)

Well... it lives!!

Had to swap the 5. 9 head on to the 6. 7 block, since I knew for a fact the injectors fit and sealed correctly in it. Got it together, cranked it with the injectors unplugged, and it sounded right, not the free whir it had before. Plug the injectors in, cranked while the fuel system primed, and she fired right up and settled into a nice idle. Has a great deep rumble at idle to!

Still need to swap the fan off the 5. 9 pulley on to the 6. 7 pulley in the engine bay, fan shroud, overflow bottle, bumper, grille, and hook up the Fleece VGT controller, tuck some wires, and she's ready to start racking up the miles again:D
