You know I'll take several of whatever you can come up with... . 10 or more. Just a reminder... . :D

And I tried to join PToombs in stirring the drum on 1stgen.org, but it won't let me log on... WTH?

Not sure on the WTH, I just went there & it works fine for me. Either way though, your vote has now been submitted ;)

Speak truth and wear loud shorts..... :D

... . and something about meeting people who drive diesels... ..... Do they wear shorts like that, too?

Of course, I guess I can't blame you. If I lived in Ontario, I'd wear shorts every chance I could, too... ... but it just don't seem right when there's a frost... ... I don't know... .

Oops, quite right, and my apologies Timm,

As I'm here, TAcerberg, how many are they going to need for a production run on the vacuum molding? Or is it piece by piece?

Personal opinion having tried a few different gauge mounts. ;)

Right side is still best for the reason of the area does not block anything other than hood space. When stuff is on the left, depending on driver height it can block some of your visibility.

I forgot I was registered on 1stGen.org.
Any who, since I'm now back in the first gen crowd, apparently I'm one of two to want the 5R.
Oh well.
Would anyone be willing to do a homemade mold of some variety for a 3 or 4 pod.
Maybe someone who just found some 4 gauge pods in someone's garage?:D
I might be able to make one and expand it. Fiberglass?

Why don't you machine or get one machined out of plastic? I wouldn't think it would be all that difficult.

Wouldn't know who to contact.

Fiberglass was just the inital thought.

Isn't fiberglass more UV stable, though?

If you had a sketch any machine shop with a milling machine could make one.

I think it would be difficult to try to make one out of fiberglass. I work with fiberglass on boats and I would never attempt a gage pod.

You can get plastics with fiberglass that are pretty stable. I think Delrin is available like that. We used to use it in steering components. Comes in black

... you could polish aluminum pretty easy, easy to cut and machine... . fairly light. Shoot, you could almost do a complete guage pod across the dash... ... . How many will fit across there? Bschwarzli, I'm sure you've measured... :D

Umm, I don't have slightest clue how that would look or how many would fit. ;)

But if I were to use my imagination ( and find a photo I have kicking around somewhere) I might be able to show the answer to that question! :-laf :D
