That "jet" is an SR-71 Blackbird:-laf! I doubt the grill and fenders would hold up to the acceleration:DOo. ! GregH

Nice prop plane. Needs a paint job though. Seems dull. ;)

Sigh... ... very much in love with that truck! :D

Forgot to mention... I got to sit in the cockpit of S/N 60-6930, the A-12 that is at the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL. I was just a kid when they got it, but my parents took me out of school that day to go to the festivities. Good times. :D

are those the planes that leak when they are on the ground, but when they fly they stop because of the altitude... or is that a myth... . thats what i was told at a plane show if i recall.

Not a myth. Saw one at Wright Patterson AFB and it was leaking a tiny bit while it sat there. Beautiful plane tho and it was always the fastest plane the US had. Moe

Hello all. BSchwarzli told me another thread started up about my crew cab 1st Gen. I really appreciate everyone's positive comments about it! And no... it's not for sale. . sorry. As you can see in my photo section, it has evolved over the years from what started humbly enough as a stock W250 2 door cab snow plow in Iowa, to what it is now. It still has a long way to go before it's done, although... . are you ever really done?

My next project after this is to swap a CTD into my '88 R/C (the burgundy red one in my photos).

Oh... about the picture with SR-71 at Edwards Air Force Base (I was stationed there until I retired from the Marines on Jan 1st).

. . I didn't try to put it on the "roof" on purpose, but it turned out pretty cool I think.

I'm fairly knowledgeable about the SR-71 as it has always been my favorite plane ever made. Goodguys75 asked about the fuel leakage of the SR-71? Yes it is well known for bad fuel leakage while on the ground, but the reason is due to the metallurgy  of its structure. Because it flies so fast, the skin of the SR-71 heats up in flight, and the panels expand, making everything fit tight, including sealing the fuel from leakage. And that's your SR-71 class 101 for today folks. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
